Shocked it didn't arrive as committed.
Shocked there are issues with the tracking number.
Shocked someone comes to defend him.
/Sarcasm
Quoted from purbeast:Just saying ... this is mad suspect.
That's not how tracking numbers work lol.
Unless it was shipped USPS and he checked it at the actual Post Office, but I've only seen that happen in one case. It was when I sent something media mail and when myself and the recipient entered the tracking # on their website, it returned nothing. Then after he didn't receive it the day it was supposed to arrive I went to the PO, and when we entered it at the PO, it showed the full tracking status.
But ... that isn't what it sounds like he is telling you, and it shipped UPS as well.
Quoted from ThePinballCo-op:Just fyi, I did an in-person deal with Wally16. I purchased his Alien. I've been to his place of business and home.
I can tell you now, he doesn't need your money. I trust the guy, but he's busy as hell. He has so many games and parts and business deals and things going on that it's probably at the bottom of his to-do list. I bet he still has NIB games sitting around like he did the time I was there. He had like 3-4 he hadn't gotten to when I visited him, including dozens (hundreds?) of parts and mods that were still wrapped up waiting to be installed.
Wally16 is meticulous. If you buy a game from him, you are getting the best ever game in existence or close to it. His games are cherry. He takes pride in his collection.
So don't fret. He'll won't keep your money. He's legit. I promise you.
Never Said The guy didn't have cool stuff, That's why I sent him the dough in the first place/did deals on 9 games with Wally16
Quoted from poppapin:Ain't over till the check is in Joey's hands!
It's actually not over until the check clears...
You’re going to get the check and be all happy and Wally is going to take everyone’s advice in this post about stopping the check…. Sarcasm
Quoted from vdojaq:This still doesn't excuse anything. However, does paint a picture that he has a bunch of cool shit. That's no excuse either.
Nobody ever said The Guy didn't have a lot of cool stuff, That's why I sent him the money in the first place!
Generated a lot of downvotes and negativity with my last post. I was only trying to confirm he's not a scammer but a legit collector. I didn't think I was defending him. I was trying to put OPs mind at ease.
Now I see OP has done several deals with him before, so I realize now I didn't need to say any of that. I don't understand the point of this thread anymore. If you've done 9 deals with him before, why wouldn't you trust him on the 10th one?
Next time I'll just shut up.
now might be a great time as well . . .

Lehman Brothers was one of largest investment banks in the United States still went bust. Bernie Madoff Was given the Key to the New York Stock exchange while running the largest Ponzi scheme (Within the Largest Ponzi scheme) up to the point it blew up.
Those 9 deals are over and done and I paid in full for everyone of them! Almost 50 large all in,
That doesn't change the fact that Wally16 owes me $6,000. Which he openly admits to time and time again.
I KNOW HE OWES ME THE MONEY
HE KNOWS AND SAYS HE OWES ME THE MONEY
ALL THAT'S LEFT IS FOR HIM TO GIVE ME THE MONEY
THAT'S THE POINT OF THE THREAD.
I hope you enjoyed the Alien Pinball machine you paid for.

Here we are past 6:00 P.M. on day two Still no $6,000 Check
Wally16 sounded convincing on the phone a couple days ago....I went to bed thinking the money was on it's way, Frustrating Very Frustrating!
This is why pinside sucks! Guy lost money and is looking for help, shoulder to cry on but instead gets ragged on for stupid Shit and fills up pages of people “ vouching” for the guy from deals done a decade ago or their .02 cents of parental talk. Doesn’t mean people don’t change nor the need for a random 6k, you would think being on this site means you’re into the hobby as a group but instead this site forms clicks like High school. Having ADHD and impulse control means I have been on bunch of Man child groups/pages. Pinside is the only source that doesn’t try and help the victims out.
People complaining about his long post is just childish, shouldn’t matter what the guy posted I stopped reading after “hey I lost 6k” and that’s all that should matter. The rest is all fluff. Time to clean up the act pinside, gets some morals. Help this guy out. Some one from this site took money from another member without producing shouldn’t be taken lightly.

I agree with the above post. Wally has been asked a few times to chime in if OP is claiming anything other than the facts. It's been crickets on his part, oh wait...maybe he's too busy playing with all his fancy toys. I've read enough to where I wouldn't do business with Wally and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Is there an official thread that we can move Wally's name to? Some sort of "buyer beware".

Candidly guys, everyone here is jumping to the conclusion that Wally is being a little B. But every story has two sides. Nobody on this chain has heard the other side from Wally.
Clearly, between deals number 9 and 10, something happened between Joey and Wally. There’s a 4 or 5 month window of something happening. Joey explained his side of that window. There could be another side. I don’t know. But clearly pinballcoop has done deals with wally and is offering perspective as a character witness. I’m ok with that. Upvotes all day until I hear both sides of story and feel comfortable passing judgement

The part of his post that bothers me is where he says "He has so many games and parts and business deals and things going on that it's probably at the bottom of his to-do list." This is not a legit reason to ignore a customer. For that reason I don't see how you could support his post.

We could not locate the shipment details for this tracking number. Details are only available for shipments made within the last 120 days. Please check your information.
That's what I get
Well maybe after he’s sell that maverick he’s got up for 6000 he will have the money to pay you back .

As an Australian one thing that always puzzles me on these type of threads is the extent to which sellers are often defended because they are busy people and seemingly the norms of basic customer service, integrity and decency can be put to one side.
There’s gotta be someone close to this guy, he’s over 6 hours from me and or I’d ask for the address.
Also with the name being dragged through the mud, it’s ok pinside allows members who have shitty raps on one account start a whole NEW account with no recourse and knowing that it’s happening… but as long as they get that tier fee… Ask me how I know?!
Quoted from ThePinballCo-op:That's not what I'm saying fully... that's one part of it.
If you read up, the check with tracking is on its way. Wally came through.
Did he? Why you keep defending this guy?

I would jump past whatever Wally has to say at this point. The mere fact that he has agreed to owing $6k and within the last week provided a bullshit tracking number and flat out lied about sending the check is enough to forgo his part of the story in my book.
If he has a problem with refunding the money for whatever reasons, then say it. Don't string the guy along with false claims, say "Hey listen asshole, I'm not paying you your 6k and this is why".
Quoted from Norcalpin:I would jump past whatever Wally has to say at this point. The mere fact that he has agreed to owing $6k and within the last week provided a bullshit tracking number and flat out lied about sending the check is enough to forgo his part of the story in my book.
Exactly. He agreed he owes it multiple times, and then throws in some weird comments about Joey somehow benefitting $1,000 and $2,500 that really make so sense. Sounds like crying long after the fact.
And frankly, at this point, I no longer care about his side of the story, or the 5-month gap. He affirmed in writing that he owes it multiple times, so when dragged into court, would have no legal defense.
Quoted from JBtheAVguy:Did he? Why you keep defending this guy?
Good olde boys club, over the pants handies.
I see this is your first time in one of these. Wait till you’re on the other side of this it gets WAaay Worse. People come out of the wood work. Hell look at Wally’s feedback after this got posted/aired he all of sudden had a positive review posted!
Someone might be tempted to attempt to scam a scammer, or get an address, but that’s a sure way to get into trouble yourself. How some have this much play money is hard for me to grasp. Private eye and legal action is the route I’d go. Cost is very much outweighed by that check amount IMHO.
Quoted from Vecna:I think JoeyItaliano need to come clean on this issue. More to the story?
Wally is dead set on me costing him a sale with Safecracker. Bear in mind this is a machine he listed a few times 2022-12-17 (43 Days)
2022-11-14 (28 Days)
He started at 15,000 then went to 13,500 I'm going to repost one of my earlier posts into this which provides details. I did make it clear sending that much for the games in the deal would take time and come in installments. I had sent checks and was 2/3rds of the way to paying off the whole thing when he said someone had offered him 15,000 for Safecracker which as far as I can tell would be the record for most expensive Safecracker ever!
It's hard for me to choke down after it was listed here on Pinside for awhile that someone was going to throw down 15K but at the time I got Leveled by Covid & there was a Hurricane on it's way to Florida
Wally had a Safe Cracker he put the chrome package on as well as a color DMD & Rad Cals, he also gave it a shop job/new rubbers. He put it up for 15k and nobody bit, then he put it back up for 13,500 and nobody offered to pay that price either. At the same time he had a couple other listings up for a Pair of Pinball 2000's, Right in the listing it said ''Better Deal if you buy both together'' That deal turned out to be 9k for the pair, I agreed as they seemed to be in great shape HUO. As we are talking about that there's the Safe Cracker ad still up. Wally tells me he has been getting low balled on it or offered to trade games he did not want that were in rough shape. Says with what he paid for it + the upgrades and his labor he has north of 12k into it and selling it for 13,500 he is lucky to net 800 bucks from the whole thing! Ok so that's 9 +13.5=22.5 for the package. I tell him ok but it is going to be broken up in a few payments and that's going to take some time for all the checks to show up. I send the first check for $7,500 then two more in the same envelope 5,000 & 2,500 with instructions to cash them a couple weeks apart. At this point he has received 15K from me when he say's I got somebody to offer me 15k for Safe Cracker (at the time I was coming down with Covid & There was a Hurricane on it's way down here to Florida) given that I told him I did not want my bad luck to cost him anything to take the 15k for Safe Cracker (Hence making an extra $1,500 for himself) and send me my 15k back, he said Send somebody to pick up the other two machines (The Pair of Pinball 2000's for 9k) and I'll send you the difference 15-9=$6,000 my change back down. So the following week I had the shippers pick them up and drop them at my place, however there was no check for the $6,000 in them and now the story has changed to me costing him $2,500 WHICH WAS CHANGED AGAIN FROM COSTING HIM $1,000 EARLIER IN THIS STORY!
Appreciate you reading the whole thing and condensing it.
Your points are correct
Wally and I have done a lot of Business over the past couple years (That's The only way I sent him that much in checks to begin with)
Wally and I BOTH agree he owe's me $6,000 (As he says this 5 Times in this conversation out of his own mouth)
Just want what I have coming to me, the $6,000 that's owed.
He has the Safecracker that didn't sell again (Along with 28 other games marked as unsold)
I offered to use up the credit I had with him ($6,000) on a $5,995 priced Playboy so he would not have to even give any money back and would make his 10th sale with me at His list Price and got this as a response from him:
(You will get your money, but I will never give you the satisfaction of owning one of my machines again, you jerk me around for five months and if you don’t think there’s anything wrong that Then think again)
So you tell me, What would you have done? Read the First post I put up with our word for word back and forth....What more could be offered???
I didn't read this whole thread, but I wouldn't mess around with Joey too much. On the phone he sounds like a mobster hitman, like straight outta the Soprano's. He has "guys" around the country who will pick up your machine and pay cash, as he did with one of mine. He's a standup guy no doubt, but certainly wouldn't want to owe him anything lol.

Mobsters move in silence. This is definitely not that. Sounds weak and talks to much for that.
Of course I want my 6 grand back, however the most disappointing part of this is Remembering back two years ago when Wally16 was just starting out here on Pinside. He didn't have much feed back then. I came across a few of his ads and from the pictures it looked like he was putting in the time to bring machines back to life, after talking with him about his body shop it made sense as those guys pay attention to details. Anyway I saw the ads sitting there for awhile and at the time was starting to get into the 90's Bally/Williams era so I bought his Popeye, Junk Yard & No Good Gophers, just gave him his prices. Then I sent him a World Cup & Pinball Magic to tune up having some good conversations along the way.
Fast forward 18 months later, I'm crushed by covid and the guy try's to kick me while I'm down!
Few days back I spoke with Wally16 and he told me a cashiers check was overnighted, then got pictures of the check and UPS slip to back it up. Nothing ever showed up. As for where the check is, Your guess is as good as mine.
Quoted from Vecna:Mobsters move in silence. This is definitely not that. Sounds weak and talks to much for that.
That's true, I doubt any of those guys are on here
I’m pretty sure that if you just mention Wally16 in chat nothing happens.
But I think if you put Wally16 he gets a notification that he was mentioned in a thread. Maybe he doesn’t know that “Check is in the mail” is referring to him.
You can see/search other users posts easily, but I don’t know if there’s a way to see if he’s even looked it this thread.
But Wally16 should see this now, and hopefully responds

It must be a setting. I don't get any kind of notifications if I am mentioned. I only get one (email) if I receive a PM.

Yeah, I think you have to enable notifications, and that's another donor thing.

I used to work as a door-to-door bill collector for the cable tv company. Did it for 18 years. There are plenty of people that look wealthy and are living pay cheque to pay cheque. Regularly I was sent out trying to collect on a $1k cell phone and internet bill that was days away from disconnection. In the lane there would be $400k in cars. Maybe you shouldn’t have a Bentley and Range Rover if you can’t pay your bills.
Point is, in my opinion the only thing to put the OP’s mind at ease would be $6k in cash. Not a tracking number that’s outdated.
P.s. in Canada we spell it cheque to pay someone, and check to look at something.

Learn something new every day. I've sent wally16 Texts to his cell as well as numerous private messages here on pinside (All listed Word for Word earlier in the thread here - addresses and phone #'s still want to respect the man's privacy) he acknowledges the 6,000 debt he owes me and writes over & over that I will get my money back, It's a matter of public record at this point.
Quoted from Luckydogg420:You guys could be right. I’m not 100% sure how it works
Look it up, it's in your user settings.
Do I think Wally is a scammer? No. It sounds more like he's just trying to cause Joey pain and antagonization as retaliation for some perceived pain and antagonization he feels he got from Joey. No, I'm not saying thats right. In fact, even if that were the case, just be the bigger man and pay up your debt.
Not to defend Wally, but if he did sent a check via USPS its very possible it is hung up or just taking longer than usual. Sometimes the tracking numbers don't update properly either. Maybe time to cancel that check and send another. Or Venmo. Or Paypal F&F, or wire transfer. At this point whatever personal beef there may or may not be between the two doesn't matter much if they are both in agreement that 6k is owed. Pay it, quit messin around, and get it over with.
Quoted from galore2112:Looks like $6000 is a whole lot more than the value of reputation on Pinside.
Everyone can draw there own conclusions...
