    Maybe you are looking at it in the wrong direction.

    Reset is normally high. Therefore with those two diodes facing the way they do, it has no effect on the two select lines.

    However, when reset is low, it forces Sound Interupt and one sol select line low. Inverting that same reset signal, Q6 forces the other sol select high during the reset cycle.
