How well do you think these washers will work to protect the plastics? I'd been looking for a cheap alternative to lexan when I saw these nylon washers at Menards. They're a little bigger than the fender washers that came with it. Then I tried to cut one with tin snips and it went very well! I was surprised how well the light passed through it.

What do you think, good idea or terrible idea?

Too cheap for lexan washers on a new Maiden?

Seems like using a softer material and clipping it to the shape of the plastic is missing the point? Get some high strength clear ones from titan or something

I wouldn't cut them like that. At least use a dremmel to shave them down so the edges are smooth.

I prefer the PETG washers since they're clear and less noticeable. Plus they are pretty durable. There are a few different sizes, so you can pick and choose which ones work best.

Also, when you're installing them, make sure to remove the post screw, put the washer under the nut of the post screw, then screw it down into the playfield. The gap between the washer and the plastic helps protect the plastic from getting cracked when the washer gets hit and flexes.
