I never paid attention but you're right no pop bumpers. Only other games I know of are fire (also an oursler design), and No Fear by Ritchie. I like spinners but I can live without them, especially what a pain they are to keep together when you're doing a playfield swap. And I think there are better ways to randomize without pop bumpers.. It's almost as if pop bumper clusters are stuck in areas where they couldn't decide what to do with a space.
Give me drop target banks and well implimented ramps and I'm usually happy with a game.
