Quoted from Crile1:Imagine an Ultraman pin!
OH I JUST DID and now need to figure out the rest of my 23hrs , 59min and 59 seconds of my day....
To each their own. But Ultraman is one of those shows that I fondly remember from my childhood. Running outside and pointing my capsule in the air and transforming into Ultraman to do battle with invading monsters was how I spent many a summer afternoon.
I hope he goes to Kyoto and convinces Nintendo to give him a license for something. I still can't believe no one has tried to cash in on Nintendo nostalgia yet, other than Gottlieb back in the day. They could sell a thousand Legend of Zelda machines no problem (if you promise Chuck isn't doing the layout)
I kno a lot of people like Ultraman, but i dont think its a good theme for pinball.
Just my opinion.
Ive been thinking of what theme, based in Japan, would make a killer, take-my-money-now pin.... heres the answer....
Nintendo
Could be a Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or maybe an all encompassing Nintendo pin!
Think about and sign me up for an LE Chuck!

Unless Reggie said you gots to talk to my boss.

It would go to the US Partnerships department. Reggie sits a floor above.
Zelda and Pokemon. Both are huge franchises, neither have had a pinball made.
I’d prefer Zelda. That’s a day one deposit, sight unseen.
But
Pokemon could really work well for pinball, and connect with a younger audience. Nintendo owns a part in Pokemon, but you’d need the Pokemon company to sign off on it. Not nintendo.
Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:He went for the sushi. You can't get that in Benton WI.
Well, technically you could, but it’d probably be about as good as the Mexican food I’m afraid.
Cruising over to Galena’s Little Tokyo Restaurant looks pretty promising though! (Minus whatever that white stuff is on the crab roll... )

Zelda would be a grail theme for me, but I would hope that JJP does it if anyone.
No offense to Spooky or any other manufacturers, just a personal opinion.
Studio Ghibli pinball confirmed!
Hopefully something interesting comes from this trip sooner rather than later.

Wow. I never thought about that. Howl’s moving castle pin could be very very cool.
Hit a switch to change the door location. Have multiple modes in each door location.
Move the castle mode
Keep calsifer burning hurry-ups
Quoted from Rasavage:Jersey Jack was in Osaka, Japan on Thursday, so maybe there's a convention or something.
If both Jersey Jack and Charlie were in Japan within a week of each other but not at the same time, you can bet money that one of them approached a Japanese company for a license. Were I a Japanese company and free unexpected money from a license deal was offered to me, you can bet money that I'd be on the phone getting counter offers from the competition before accepting an offer. What this likely means to us is that we can expect some sort of Japanese licensed pinball machine coming to us in mid to late 2020.
With all that said... I hope it's Nintendo!
Would be super cool if Charlie were able to get one of his dream Toho licenses. However, he has such a passion for Godzilla that I could also see him flying to Japan (while heavily sedated) just to see that stuff anyway. Spooky is going to be hard at work on on Alice for much of 2019. I assume Scott's next game will be reveled at the mid-2019, with the bulk of production of that game in 2020. I have to assume Scott is designing that game with a theme secured, so unless it was just dotting i's, I doubt this trip was related to that game. So...if this was a business trip to secure a new theme, it seems like it would almost have to be a mid to late-2020 release.
It's been done before and to be honest smb as a pin sucks big time. I'm a huge nintendo collector and had smb pin for awhile. I don't think any nintendo game would translate into a good pin.

Not even Kirby's Pinball Land?
Quoted from Dantesmark:What bout smw
novelty game. Maybe it's that it was created by premier. By far the worst line of dmd games ever put out.
