Opening up an old topic that is still relevant. I am trying to change the language in a Lost World Jurassic Park and understand that the ROMs need to be changed. I have downloaded the ROM package from IPDB and when unzipped have:

Jp2_u7.bin
Jp2_u17.bin
Jp2_u21.bin
JP2CPU.202
JP2DSPA.201

I believe that I only have to update the CPU and Display ROMS (?) and have removed the CPU (U210) and Display (U12) ROMs, which are 27C040 chips.

I burned and verified the CPU and DSP ROMs onto 27C4001 chips, which I understand are interchangeable, and installed them in the boards. Now all the pin does is blink the GI on/off. No sounds, display, or anything.

Do I also need to update the ROMs for u7, u17, and u21?

Help?
