Game ROM and display ROM.

Display ROM is on the back of the display, game ROM is on the board with the batteries.

Dig out your manual and check the location.

Game ROM on your CPU is U210.

I think the only socketed ROM on the back of your display is the display ROM.

The labeled one is the one you change.

Note there is a notch on one end of the ROM, and a similar mark on the board. Be sure you line these up with the new ROMs.

Opening up an old topic that is still relevant. I am trying to change the language in a Lost World Jurassic Park and understand that the ROMs need to be changed. I have downloaded the ROM package from IPDB and when unzipped have:

I believe that I only have to update the CPU and Display ROMS (?) and have removed the CPU (U210) and Display (U12) ROMs, which are 27C040 chips.

I burned and verified the CPU and DSP ROMs onto 27C4001 chips, which I understand are interchangeable, and installed them in the boards. Now all the pin does is blink the GI on/off. No sounds, display, or anything.

Do I also need to update the ROMs for u7, u17, and u21?
