It’s been awhile, so I thought I’d put together another challenge. The following message also contains a secret message for those who can decode it. If you figure it out, you will know what to do to prove that you “get the message.” WARNING: This is meant to be a challenge, it may take awhile to “get it.” There is a definite message, you won’t have to wander around wondering if you got it. Once you get it (if you are up to the challenge), you will know for sure and be able to prove it for sure.

(If you’d like to see the earlier similar secret message puzzles, here are the links:

    https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/get-the-message-in-post-1prove-it

    https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/challenge-ii-get-the-message-in-post-1-prove-it )

I call this message “No Question, Stuck in the Middle”

Why do so many try to guess without solving?
They try to post without the solution.
This time, for sure, only sleuths will get it.
If you have the time, try it.
But will many put in the effort to solve this?
I will say a good word for those who get it.
    And absolutely, yes I will.
This is not do or die, but for fun.
    Is this one reverse-engineer-proof?
The answer comes through no way but the message.
Try this or not, whichever will be perfectly fine.
It may be for you, but it may not.
I hope some want to try again.
    Sleuths will then respond correctly.
    I will send them congratulations.
Will many pinsiders give this one a try?
That just might make me think this was worthwhile.
    Please take a few minutes.
You can try at six pm, six am, noon, or midnight.
This can be deciphered with a bit of effort.
I am not the only one who will know.
    Will others figure it out?
    Likely all the sleuths will.
Put in a good word for all who try.
I think that those who “solved” the others will try this.
This will go on for as long as people solve it.
Thanks to all of the pinsiders who do this.
Maybe this won’t be subject to question this time.
Does anyone remember the “letter y” controversy?

You are correct, job well done!

    #79 3 years ago
    Quoted from luch:

i think there is more to just posting yes or no , there's another step i'm missing .

Once you figure out the secret message contained in the first post, you will know exactly what to do. I tried to make this one pretty much impossible to reverse-engineer. You basically have to figure out the secret message.

    #83 3 years ago
    Quoted from luch:

i got this part, " I will send them congratulations." got to figure who them is

I suggest taking a look at the prior two “Get the Message” threads (links are in post #1 of this thread), for examples of how the earlier secret messages were related to their titles. The title, message, and secret message for each is shown at the end of each of those threads. Hope this helps.

    You got it, congratulations!

    #90 3 years ago

    You got it, good job!

    #91 3 years ago

    Any other sleuths?

    #94 3 years ago
    Quoted from KozMckPinball:

    Was it hard?
Not that it was much more difficult
    or less easy then before.

I’ve tried to make these challenging, but not discouragingly difficult. If enough people want, I can make them more difficult, but I don’t want to discourage anyone from trying.

    #96 3 years ago
    Quoted from egyptrus:

This is the first one I was able to solve so I'd say this one seemed easier to me than the others but I suspect the level of difficulty is a bit different for everyone. Sometimes you just understand the clues and it makes sense and other times (if you're like me) you just stare at it and don't get it.

I actually thought the second one might have been too easy, but as you said, I’m sure it’s different for different people.

    #97 3 years ago

I appreciate pinsiders’ efforts in looking at the messages and trying to figure them out!

    #101 3 years ago
    Quoted from luch:

this is great thanks for doing this

    My pleasure!

    #103 3 years ago
    Quoted from DanQverymuch:

Yeah, they are pretty cool, custom made for Pinside and all! Thanks!

    Thanks for the encouragement!

    #106 3 years ago

    Any more sleuths out there?

    #108 3 years ago
    Quoted from JayDee:

Did luch get it yet? I’ve been rooting for him after seeing all the attempts

    Not yet.

    #110 3 years ago

    Correct! Congratulations!

    #113 3 years ago
    Quoted from luch:

    hint , hint , pretty please !

Nice try, but the only hint is the message title!

    #115 3 years ago
    Quoted from luch:

is this the title you speak of "Get the Message in Post #1?"
and this has something to do about it too "I will send them congratulations."

Please read through the PM I sent earlier, it gives the title to each of the three messages I’ve done and advice on how to use the previous two to see how the titles relate to the hidden messages. The title for this one, as stated in the first post, is “No Question, Stuck in the Middle.” That’s the only clue, the rest is for everyone to figure out. Once you figure out what the hidden message is, it will tell you what to do, just like the previous two did. Thanks.

    #116 3 years ago

    Now you got it! Congratulations!

The perseverance award for this puzzle goes to luch !

    #122 3 years ago
    Quoted from bobmathuse:

If you like these, you should know that there's a website with harder ones where you can win real stuff. Like $10K, jewelry, coins, pirate booty, etc. Forrest Fenn's treasure may have been found but there are plenty of other people who've stashed stuff to find, and many more offering "armchair" puzzles where you don't have to go BOTG to cash in. Here's a link to the largest assemblage of "treasure hunt" puzzles:
    https://mysteriouswritings.proboards.com
Check out the "Great American Treasure Hunt" for example; four 10K prizes given away in the past few months for figuring out puzzles somewhat like these, just far more intense.
By the way, thanks for doing this.

If I made these a lot more intense, which I have done elsewhere (I’ve used them in putting together road rallies), I’m afraid I would lose a lot of the participation in these threads. And thanks for the thanks!

    #124 3 years ago
    Quoted from DanQverymuch:

I'd love to see harder pinball-specific ones!
This last one was not difficult, I knew what to do immediately. Won't say why, that might read like a clue...

Like I said earlier, I was thinking the second one might have been too easy. And yet someone here also said this third one was the first they could figure out.

    #126 3 years ago

    You got it! Good job!

    #127 3 years ago

Anyone else up for the challenge?

    #129 3 years ago

    The challenge awaits..

    #132 3 years ago

    Any more sleuths?

    #133 3 years ago

Anyone else up to the challenge?

    #137 3 years ago

    You got it! Congratulations!

Here is the solution to this message puzzle. Again, I wanted to wait until I launched a another puzzle before this reveal.
“No Question, Stuck in the Middle” in this case meant to look at the middle word in each sentence that is not a question.

    The original message:
“Why do so many try to guess without solving?
Does anyone remember the ‘letter y’ controversy?”

The solution: “Post only the word yes or no, whichever you want, then send me a PM with only the word ‘solved’ as the subject”

Thanks to all who participated in this. I am concurrently starting a fourth hidden message puzzle thread, so there will be another one for those who want to try it.
