Just picked one up from Cointaker tonight.
I took tons of unboxing pics...

Thank you! Looks great. I'm waiting for my LE but that classic is nice! Great value and that green single color for the DMD choice will look good on it.

I thought the classics had single orange color DMD's. Did you replace it already?

Classics can still switch color of dots... menu item.

According to CGC, one of those amps on the topper now has the interface board in it so they could run a single wire harness and connector to the topper, unlike the AFMrLE topper. So you would have to incorporate that board into any change you want to make to remove the amps and add Creech or Wolfie, or the Mummy. Just a FYI...

Man this game sure is pretty when new. Why couldn’t it have been Scared Stiff instead?

PinballSTAR has a very few MBR LE spots that came open available to sell, won't last long - if interested Email Joe at [email protected]. Authorized Chicago Gaming distributor.

Quoted from Bublehead:

@cgc_dduba, thanks for the info. The light show is very impressive. That, the display, and the topper instantly sold the LE machine for me, but more importantly, for the wife.
I was hoping to get her to open up the purse strings for a CE at the $6k price point. She took one look at the LE, asked the rep how much, he said $8000 plus shipping. She turned to me and said “I want one, make it happen.”
So anyone who has a significant other who may be fence sitting or directly cock blocking a MBrLE purchase, get them to a show, let them see this thing in person, and play it. I went to Expo with the hope of buying a DP Pro... I came back with a MBrLE and a very happy wife. Your significant other mileage may vary.

embarassing. grow some cojones.

#3059 5 years ago

@robotron. Were you hiding under your bridge or did you just get back from Troll-Con? I’ve always lived by the phrase “Happy wife = happy life” and I have a pair, I just intend to keep them (and Mr. Happy) attached and not wake up like that poor monkey on the Houdini machine.

#3060 5 years ago

It's kind of funny because my wife LOVED the LE and told me if I was going to get one, that should be the one. I agreed. Today she asked me how much it was. The look on her face.

No, they're LCDs emulating a dot display. Not compatible with plasma DMDs. They can be changed to any color & even display full color HD dots with the upgrade chip.

Monster Bash Remake makes its debut in Australia at Flipout 2018.

Funnily enough on one MBR I was bricking almost every shot, whereas the second MBR that they had there was butter smooth. There was an original MB there too, so it was great to compare the new vs old.

How did the two compare? That's quite the jacket there!

Waiting for my friend to help me get it down the stairs.

That new MB is beautiful.

Haha, the gent with the Pac-Man suit was getting a lot of attention. As for comparisons, if I hadn’t played the smoother MBR, I would’ve said the original shoots/feels better. As it is MBR is strikingly vivid & beautiful - and if it’s setup right, shoots just as good (if not better) than the original

PS: I put up a quick video of it on FB - https://www.facebook.com/154202008022359/posts/1779898698786007/

I have side art from Pingraffix on the way to finish my MBr SE.

#3069 5 years ago

I got to play a MBR last nite and i am super impressed. The game shoots great, its fun, and its beautiful. It just might be the prettiest pinball machine that ive ever seen! I was blown away by it and this game may end up in my basement one day. Congrats to all of you MBR owners!

Also, no offense to the original MB game and its owners but holy crap, the remake just blows the original away in my opinion. It plays so much better and the colors really pop and stand out on the remakes. Maybe its because one game is old and the other is brand new but man the remake is the cats ass!

I have been a prophet for CGC and MBrLE from the moment I played one... There is something there that pictures don’t convey. Who-dey has seen the light, and I encourage all MB owners to check it out, you think you wont sell your original, but you might seriously rethink that if you play an SE or LE, heck even the CE is beautiful.

I played the SE last night and man that oversized color DMD is the shit. The game is like the hottest chic you have ever seen, you just kind of sit there and look with your mouth hanging open and you drool.

Well, so far a really nice original MM or AFM, with strong flippers etc etc plays nicer than the re-makes.

No idea on MBR yet as not played it.

The main issue with originals is that people often play games with weak flippers etc and that is what they then base their opinion on.

The upgraded dots on MBR do look the cat's whiskers though.

Will be interesting in 10 years time to re-visit the original versus re-make debate.

When you do play it you are going to sh*t! Remember that feeling you had way back when, when you got your first girlfriend? You know that puppy love feeling? Thats kind of how this new MBR makes you feel.

Im not sure how long that feeling will last but it sure did feel good last nite!

MB and MBR - can't really go wrong!

For those who say MB is too easy, just max out the outlanes.

Has plenty of 'one more go' when this is done.

Looks like folks are starting to receive their LE's.

Nobody with orders from JJ as far as I know.

#3077 5 years ago

I was told that my LE (#34) would ship last week, but I have had no notification from a shipping company.

I hope it works out better than the AFMr I bought. First shipment the cabinet was forked. Second shipment the topper was smashed...kept the game sent the topper back. Third shipment of the topper was by UPS...got here in good shape.

Hopefully I will get notice next week of a pending arrival.

How big of a deal is the upgraded sound package on the SE over the CE?
