But christ Ill retire before I see game 5 come out and im only 51.

I get the same feeling. But since this is one of the few licensed title think the next two should be quicker. Still hoping to see game 4 out middle of next year.

Quoted from Rascal_H:

Didn’t the announcement of MB only happen because someone got all CSI on their asses? Probably would have been better if that never happened. Not really their fault. That said... I hate waiting too.

No, it was told that the game would be revealed at TPF... then CGC themselves said it wouldn't be. Then two other times they had arranged with shows/events to showcase the game, and had to back off. Then finally they (CGC) acknowledged the game was ready and had UL... which we then simply looked up... confirming the title. Then CGC finally conceded the title reveal.

The truth is... they missed their target of TPF... and 6 months later they still don't have the game ready to sell. Time to market is now a significant thing in the pinball space as the market is full of 'buy now' buyers. So if your product isn't ready to sell, you risk losing that opportunity to your competition.

In the time that people have been expecting CGC's next game... many games have become available to purchase... eating away at money people were planning on spending on a CGC title.

So it's more than just 'waiting' - for CGC it's a window of opportunity that is challenged by other product on the market.

Quoted from Tradesman:

Thank you for your opinion. My opinion is they botched this and pissed off a lot of people therefore missing out on potential sales.

They botched nothing as has been pointed out. I bet they are more careful with their UL data, if that is possible.

The internet makes some things WAYYY too easy

Not possible as UL certification listings are public info. They need to announce the game before UL certification to prevent that.

#1455 5 years ago

What a tough crowd.
The game is classic, regardless of what they do it will only be an improvement - and with modern technology. You know what the bare minimum is on this, no mystery - it’s a total win.
Don’t rush them getting it right.
The last two releases were spot on!

This is how I imagine pinside sometimes

"WHY ARE YOU CLOSED CGC, WHY WON'T YOU SELL US MBR, WHY WHY WHY"

I bet the 6 months of sales they haven't been collecting on feels botched.

They missed their time table... and in the mean time lost one of their top guys. This isn't 'impatient pinside' - this is reality.

Doubt we will see this title till expo at the very soonest

The only challenge Monster Bash remake is going to face is dropping prices of originals. If the Topper is as killer as rumor suggest then there will be zero competition. AFMRLE was off the hook. I Plan on getting a matching MBRLE. Then I'm done with this NIB craze.

Short of a JAWS themed pinball machine. There is nothing NIB on the horizon that I would buy.

I'm one of those people that have gotten tired of waiting. Back in april i bought an afmr le cause no information. Saved up again now its September and boom nothing not even pricing. Money's going towards a Deadpool premium now. Market is really crowded right now and people got cash to burn. With Pirates and mbr being super delayed. Stern is cleaning house right about now

Agree. I also bought Deadpool and looking at Munsters.

Deadpool or Maiden are what’s got my attention right now. I don’t think Munsters will be revealed before MB. Though, I could see Stern saving the reveal until a day after MB drops. Just ask Spooky about that.

#1466 5 years ago

Regardless of their intro "strategy" I'd say the people who want it will buy it. If I were CGC I wouldn't note all the "I'm buying Munsters instead" posts.

I played MB at the Denver Shootout and it was OK but I think CGC should have "hung it out there" and did BBB.

Quoted from TechnicalSteam:

Dunno about that. They confirmed no code changes, and a lot of people have played MB to death given the ease of completion and difficulty draining.

A flowy new Gomez design has just been released in Deadpool.

Munsters (theme competitive) launches soon. ACNC (theme competitive) is also trickling out.

Pirates is finally shipping.

Plus I'm sure there will be surprises at Expo.

They'll no doubt sell a good number, but almost certainly they've lost high 3 figures or more in sales numbers by launching at least 6 months after TPF. They had a golden window of opportunity and missed it.

#1468 5 years ago

For me it's going to about pricing. The collectors and die hards will probably buy the LE. There will be a bunch of people on the fence deliberating the opportunity cost of a standard edition vs Deadpool and Iron Maiden pro. Do I really want to spend a couple of thousand more vs a Deadpool or Iron Maiden pro?

#1469 5 years ago

It is now September, I wonder if this is the month we will finally see the game?

#1470 5 years ago

Doubt we will see the game until expo

Wonder what would happen here if universal doesn’t ever approve the game guys?

I mean technically they said TPF in March of 2018. We'll see it when we see it. Probably two weeks!

Hopefully once they do reveal it, it will be similar to Stern. Orders can be placed right away and the games will start shipping within a few days.

Nope. CGC hasn't ever announced any date. Several shows tried to claim they'd have it only to be let down, but CGC didn't put a timeline on it.

I stand corrected. I was going off of the information in first post that started this thread.

Quoted from Only_Pinball:

Mentioned in the AFM Owners page but figured this needs its own topic.
Per CGC Facebook Page...
Like a fine wine, a pinball is not done till it’s done. We have elected to delay the introduction of Pinball #3. Originally we were scheduled to introduce our next pin at the Texas Pinball Festival in Dallas, Texas on March 16-18th. Additional features are being added while deploying some newer technologies. While we know this will disappoint a few people, we are confident that once they see the final product that they will be blown away. Chicago Gaming will still be present at the Texas Pinball Festival regardless. More information on PIN # 3 in the weeks to come.
I am one of the few that is disappointed for sure! Hope we see it soon!

TPF was a defacto launch - and even CGC had to go on record when they pulled out. CGC announced the change, not the shows (unlike the later milestones)

They didn't announce that the game would be at TPF though, did they? Just posted after the fact because TPF had represented that it would be there and then plans changed and they posted after the fact to say that they wanted to make TPF but changed plans.

I don't remember any point where CGC posted a "Come see our new game at ...!" type thing and then retracted it.

They don't pre-announce anything... they just launch it. So there never is a 'announce to announce' message. But it's semantics to pick over because CGC themselves acknowledges the planned launch was TPF... pre-announced or not. It was also well known that CGC was planning to launch there. And a week BEFORE the show, they publicly acknowledged via their FB they would not be be showing the game.. and even THEN said there would be more info in the coming weeks. Yet, it took 6 months before they again acknowledged the state of the game.

It's pointless to argue "if you never pre-announce anything, you're never late" - The plan, announced or not, was known and acknowledged.

Doug Skor (when he was still working for CGC) said that remake #3 would be revealed at TPF. Here is his post, which was made around Christmas last year, 3 months or so before TPF. I remember this since I was considering buying a MBr at the time and was excited to see it. One thing I’ve learned about pinball, however, is that you have to take all planned timelines with a large grain of salt.

Quoted from CGC_DougS:

5. We will unveil Pin #3 at the Texas Pinball Festival in March.
From your friends at CGC, we wish you all a great holiday season with your families.
Regards,
Doug Skor

Cgc delays, costing them sales, no doubt

I was thinking the same thing. Pretty crazy as AP had to actually design the game and not just remake it.

Honesty....... I have lost so much interest in this now as I have owned one before for many years.

Now I am almost certain Monsters will be out before the classics of MBr will be made and I think thats where my cash will be spent. UNREAL .

I am in the exact same boat. I have been thinking of revisiting the title but with so much on the horizon I'm now rethinking this. No question this delay has cost CGC. With the rumor of new code floating around the delay made sense. With that shot down, I can't imagine why this is over six months delayed.

#1497 5 years ago

I was told so many times new code was coming. Maybe Gerry or Fast can make it possible to revisit the rules for the community.

This is my favorite pinball of all time. I'm excited that more people in this hobby get to experience the game and it also give location operators a chance to bring the old new again. I'm still excited because the screen on attack was incredible.

Hope there is some sort of update as I've been told a few different times the usual "any day now" but nothing has come to light.

Either way I'm excited and will certainly have these on location upon their arrival to distributors.

#1498 5 years ago

If Munsters ships before Monster Bash remake .... MBr sales will be doa, around 1k machines. Had these come out a year earlier, they probably could have sold three times that number. The result of these delays have caused me to lose interest, just as I have for ACNC. Meanwhile my excitement for Munsters (not even shown) is sky high.

What can help MBr sales and increase demand - reversing decision to not update code, offering larger dmd or releasing an exclusive interactive topper. With none of those things .... it will still be a brand new, top 5 game - that will look beautiful and play smoothly. Once the game is revealed and starts shipping, it will be a good time to take a fresh look, maybe becoming excited aboot it again.

Unfortunately it is taking along time to reveal and hopefully that happens this month. But I do think people will get excited again.

If you want one of these machines new then you will probably get it like people did with AFMr & MMr
