Quoted from ExSquid:I don't know much about anything about the whys and how's with production, which is why it was just weird to me that I was eyeballing the Galaga machine for years before I finally purchased one with no problems, now until recently MB got its hooks into me really bad so I'm usually always looking around.
Before the pandemic, this was how they'd try to run it. After they'd do a run, they'd try to do extra so that distributors could have some on hand for a while.
Pinball demand has skyrocketed, and nobody can keep up. A pinball machine has a lot more parts required to be able to produce a game versus a Galaga machine, which is another factor. JJP, Stern, and CGC are all having supply issues. Often one part can hold up the completion of a game. Which is what we're seeing with CCr right now. The mix of increased demand paired with inability to make more machines due to shortages has essentially emptied every distributors supply.
