I thought some owners might appreciate this.
So our local Drive-In was closed for 10 years, but thankfully it re-opened during the pandemic. As what more covid-friendly way to go to the movies could there be?! The wife and I went to see Jurassic World there last weekend, and I decided to snap some photos for the group.
The Starlite Drive-In in Mitchell, SD really leans into the retro appeal.

The first three rows of cars can use the window-hanging speakers if they want.

The owner had to source used speakers from all over the country in order find enough to fill three rows worth. Ours originally came from the Sky-View Drive-In in Carson City, Nevada.

There's even an honest-to-goodness slide for the kids under the movie screen (not to be used once the movie starts), just as depicted on Creature.

The concession stand has hot food, popcorn, and cold drinks. Plus, one thing we really got a kick out of was that about 30 mins before the movie ended this sign came on under the screen.

Had a super fun time. There's actually another Drive-In a bit closer to us, but it doesn't have near the charm or retro-appeal that this place does. So when we're feeling like going to a Drive-In, we almost always choose this place.
So cool!
