Game has some serious harness damage. pf looks to be to be salvageable... some critter was hungry. How about that transformer?

Before it was cleaned out. Can you say "gag reflex"

I did pick some spare harness wire...I love a good challenge.IMG_2390_1.jpgIMG_2390_1.jpgIMG_2391.jpgIMG_2391.jpgIMG_2406.jpgIMG_2406.jpg

Anybody got some GTB metal posts? My buddy bought a classic game where all these are missing.

I do have an extra 5" bell

Hey I just got a replacement transformer B-6183 but I realize the one on it is a A-3235...anybody know the difference?

#38 10 years ago

yea... did get an offer for a new bottom board but I need to wait a couple of months while Montana thaws out

Meanwhile Ks&Qs B-6183, Buckaroo A-3235...cant be too much diff.

#42 10 years ago

Yes CP will have a few less bulbs then Kings&Queens for ex. Buckaroo was a 3235.

The game was in a auto auction place, Paris TX. Evident that critters spent 1 or 2 winters inside...

Thanks

And Mike O...I have a degree in EE, I got the skill set, maybe maybe not the patience

I will need to make a copy of the diagram and individually validate each segment on it, highlighting as I go...Maybe 30-40 hours

I ordered a diagram off of ebay and ended up with a pristine example with the original envelope post mark May 10th 1966, 1 month after the game was released. Will have to get it photocopied.

thanks for checking

Update...just stripped the bottom board, will clean it up/sand it down and put a coat of wipe-on poly on the board.

Then to tackle the diagram segments. I figured Id start with the plastic 115v wiring first..

Can somebody give me the order of the relays on the bottom board right side, front to back? Half my labels are missing. Ill need to get a pic of the strip too so I can recreate it.

Thanks

I'll restore...gotta try everything once..

Plugged in the old transformer... it actually worked. will swap it thou. And the critters had chewed off one of the leads on the score motor motor... did find the end. I ran it with an amp meter inline, drew 1.95 amps. I have another score motor (ebay) and it draws 1,86 amps...The original sounds better... I guess I'll use the original. only 5% greater in current draw.

Well, trying to go original as much as possible. I've had a couple of helpful pin buddies send me scrap harness from salvage. Im half way thru doing the plastic coated 110v feeds, about 30 repairs so far. A lot of inline splice and then cover with heat shrink tubing. Matching color coded wire as much as possible.

Im hung up right now until I get one more batch of harness in. Did strip and sand bottom board and then coat it with poly to abate the smell

Got another shipment of harness in, finished up most of the pvc...

Here's a sample splice, twist the wire together in a inline fashion and then cover with heatshrink

On another note, if anybody needs a specific cloth wire, I probably have it now. Another 20 fixes made, probably another 200 to go.

Im good on the relay order. A local buddy got me a pic. Im concentrating on fixing the pf underside, the bottom board needs a lot.

Well....moth balled this project for the time being...just way too much rewiring. Hoping to find a doner game. Anybody got a Central park with a trashed pf/bg/cab?
