Thats cool, much respect sent your way
the only reason I know about this game is due to Pinball Arcade. I enjoy it digitally and its a challange
If there is anyone that I know that could rebuild the guts from scratch would be pinhead52. He has the skill set and know how. He just needs pictures and part numbers. I don't think it is about money or time for pinhead52. It is all that he WANTS to do it.
Plugged in the old transformer... it actually worked. will swap it thou. And the critters had chewed off one of the leads on the score motor motor... did find the end. I ran it with an amp meter inline, drew 1.95 amps. I have another score motor (ebay) and it draws 1,86 amps...The original sounds better... I guess I'll use the original. only 5% greater in current draw.
Well, trying to go original as much as possible. I've had a couple of helpful pin buddies send me scrap harness from salvage. Im half way thru doing the plastic coated 110v feeds, about 30 repairs so far. A lot of inline splice and then cover with heat shrink tubing. Matching color coded wire as much as possible.
Im hung up right now until I get one more batch of harness in. Did strip and sand bottom board and then coat it with poly to abate the smell
Maybe ok to go with a more modern wire, use 2nd car harness. You may be able to match wire colours closely.
Got another shipment of harness in, finished up most of the pvc...
Here's a sample splice, twist the wire together in a inline fashion and then cover with heatshrink
Happy to hear you're restoring! It's a labor of love sometimes, and the tough restores are the ones you want to show off on your "resume".
On another note, if anybody needs a specific cloth wire, I probably have it now. Another 20 fixes made, probably another 200 to go.
Very glad to see you fixing this. I would too. I hate seeing games parted out. I understand why its done but kudos to you for keeping another one alive
Im good on the relay order. A local buddy got me a pic. Im concentrating on fixing the pf underside, the bottom board needs a lot.
Keep moving ever forward pinhead52, love your tenacity and following this thread.
