Just looking at this post made me go back to the original ad... and it only says "super shape original centaur" "game is way above average.", in the for sale thread discussion it says .."this thing is real nice original", "It's a nice original. Cabinet is great, backglass is also great...I also have a brand new set of mirrored plastics I never installed."

The ad didn't mention that is was shopped, it says several times that it is nice "original shape". It also didn't mention that the new plastics have ever been installed.

Were they comparing the condition to other "original" games with worn playfields and broken plastics and with sound and other issues? Who knows.

It's unfortunate that people jump to conclusions and create hostility so quickly to make these threads blow up the way that they do...

I am accustomed to buying old games anyway so I guess I am used to the fact that they will need TLC no matter what. Sure, I'd love it if the games I bought were show room condition but they never are. They are old just like me!

Quoted from KHL:

For reference, it does say "SHOPPED" in describing the condition of the machine

I always take the "built in" pinside pulldown stated condition with a grain of salt. The site shouldn't even have that pull down there when someone posts a game because it forces the seller to make a selection. What is pinside's meaning of "shopped" anyway? Full tear down? A few rubber bands? or just wiped down with a wet rag? That pulldown menu adds no value in my opinion.

Quoted from Jesterfunhouse:

In defense of Rob I bought my first machine (TAF) from him this past year and the transaction could not have gone smoother (Great price, cheap fast shipping, good communication). The machine was better than described as he gave me highlights of all of the playfield issues and I found them not to be "as" bad. I bought it unshopped and when I shopped it out the customer was more than happy with it. I would do business again.

Same here. I have purchased from them before and have been happy....hard not to be happy when you're buying a pin though...wish I could buy them all.
