Quoted from Jjsmooth:

Got the box smoothed and painted.

Red inside, Black outside, is very metal. Make it so!

I went a different route with cabinet paint. I used latex. Great results as you can see. Careful color choice means everything. Less $, less mess, crisp lines. Topped it with 3 coats of semi gloss clear lacquer, and I'm a happy man.

Nice work. I also will be refurbishing my Centaur, hopefully, this winter. I already have the new playfield and all needed new parts. Now all I'll need is the time. So I will enjoy watching as you work on yours. I appreciate the great pics! Centaur is the pin that got me hooked on the game back in '81, right after I graduated from high school. I absolutely love this pin.

Me too. The wiring harness, etc under the PF is easier than it looks at first. I recommend numbering the lights and old PF ad u remove them to make for correct install on new one.
Made good progress last night. image-319.jpgimage-319.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

I never cared for Centaur back in the day, but played a nice example @ Blairally in Eugene, OR last month. Changed my mind, I want one now!

For a game with no ramps or subways, it is a big shop job/pf swap. Drop target assembly hell.

#19 9 years ago

No doubt. Drop targets (3) are tough. The whole carriage assembly for the orbs with its own set of solenoids was a bite. But all worth it. This is my first PF swap and I did it right. I cant wait to fire it up this saturday. Almost there. image-922.jpgimage-922.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
