A $995 CPR now $1500? Because they are temporally out of stock?

#3 2 years ago

They aren't making any more. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings.

#4 2 years ago

They aren't making the SCREENED ones anymore........

With the new digital print business model they're converting to, they'll be able to make them anytime in any quantity.

In all fairness, the silkscreen ones are superior.

I have owned both from CPR, it's not a close contest.

Correct, but you can clearly see the pixelated dots from the digital process. It depends if you mind that or not.

It's hard to photograph but you can see it clearly when zoomed it. It is very apparent in person though.

And then after you drop $995 on that pixelated beauty you can spend another $1000 to get it re-clear coated!!!

I have owned both, silkscreened and digital of the same title plus several more digitally printed. While I agree the silkscreened version is slightly better, it's not worth a 50% premium. I don't stare at a playfield with a magnifying glass and I doubt anyone could tell the difference with the PF glass installed and the game lit. You know, like you actually play the game.

And the clear coat is hit or miss on CPR PF's of either variety. I've had silkscreened like a sheet of glass and others where the inserts could be felt thru the clear. Same with the digital.

If that's what you pay to re-clear a PF you're being robbed.

Which one of these FG PF's is silkscreened and which one is digital? Note- Both were re-cleared. I'm sure you can tell.

My guess is the top one due to the dot bleed on the keyline on the super bonus insert. It's hard to say though with the pictures.

I agree it's hard to sell with the lighting and resolution of the photos. My guess is the 1st/top photo shows a digital printed for several reasons.

I don't need to look at yours, I can walk out to my shop at the two Flash Gordons there. One is an original that I have been repairing the playfield for months, the other the digital print. I can see the difference clearly from the players position.

Digital print is convenient for production, not better than silkscreen.

The difference is pretty significant to me. The centaur is just sharp and beautiful while the stars looks like I printed an overlay with an old inkjet on a piece of copier paper and just cleared over it.
