I am thinking about buying Centaur. One possibility is a game with a new playfield, a new MPU and a new say-it-again-board. Another possibility is a game with the original playfield (with mylar) and the original boards. The latter is cheaper.

Any thoughts? Any advantages with the original playfield?

I'm sure it's a big difference in price, but having had a new CPR Centaur pf, theres no comparison to the yellowing originals. The blacks and whites are are so crisp on the new ones....

I would want an original over a CPR as long as the original was not beat up.

I've always thought the CPRs are slightly too white. Obviously the originals will have yellowed but the new ones don't quite match the backglass

Lucky you to have a choice! This title rarely comes up for sale. I'd always prefer the original over the reproduction game. Where did you find two for sale? Been looking for months and found a single Centaur II that I didn't buy.

New CPR pf is beautiful.
