Got this one in on Friday.......

Not getting a full blown restoration, as to keep costs down, but will get full cabinet resto as well as PF touched up & clear coated, & some mechs rebuilt. Basically just whatever game needs to be solid & look pretty, but not an every nut & bolt polished resto.

Game is in pretty good condition... Couple ground wires missing, but other than that, complete & dirty.

Cab stripped...... & sanded. Real pain with it's original Rapid Fire paint hiding underneath the Centaur black.... Black is hard enough to sand, it's always "gummy" & clogs sandpaper.... then add a layer of Rapid Fire Metalflake underneath it...... & some primer here & there..... definitely one of the least fun cabinets to sand down I have done. But overall the cab is in great shape.

PF is also in good shape.... awful thin yellowed mylar in the center. Began removing that... ran out of freeze spray. Thicker mylar would have been easier to remove, this stuff is so thin it just tears into little pieces rather than wanting to come off in one nice clean sheet. I'll get some more spray & get the rest of the mylar off so I can start cleaning up the PF to see what additional touch ups will be needed. Overall it's pretty nice, inserts really don't have any sinking etc.

Got all the mylar removed.... cleaned up PF, got the whites as bright as I can without damaging any more art.

Ready for touch ups.... actually got couple hours of touch ups in on Saturday. I'll get some pics after that process is done. Probably another 3-4 hours of touchup work left I'd say.

Work continuing on repairing the cabinet.

Got all the wood glue repairs done, initial coat of primer down & working on sharpening up the corners/edges & getting the grain out of the wood, filling in all the seams etc.

A lot more sanding..... a lot more body filler.....

These games with MDF rear panels are such a pain, & then this one is even worse, seeing how the entre upper arch piece is also MDF.

But She's getting close to being ready for black.

Nice work on those corners. Very sharp. Can’t believe the hyperball paint- what a pain. What is that, a laundry rack under it for workshop access?? Brilliant.
