Quoted from onemilemore:

Is he Ferret? Perhaps he can chime in - he's very active here and his work on Hot Wheels is fantastic.

Yes he is and I see he's still quite active on the Oktoberfest Owner's club so my guess, and it's just a guess, is that he's allowed to do contract work for other companies and maybe he's a contract employee for AP??? Hopefully he'll chime in and let us know, seems like a great guy and his work on Oktoberfest rules was really interesting.

Poll needs another option: I'm going to wait and see what they do with code, etc. before deciding. That's where I'm at.

Quoted from Yelobird:

I got the kit when they were available. Basically makes a MM Standard into a Royal with RGB light kit, topper, color wide screen, and premium sound system. Simple install and the price was certainly worth it.

Just a small point of clarification for anyone reading this in the future, the kit converts and standard MMr into an MMr-Royal. It can't be used on an OG MM.

A few tidbits I found interesting from watching the presentation:

They have replaced "all the reed switches" with a new inductive sensor. For those that know the game well, where are these reed switches and are they indeed problematic?

Interactive Topper has more inputs and outputs than a early solid state game - interesting comparison.

They still silk-screen all their playfields - this may not be "news" but I found it interesting to hear it confirmed.

They have five pinball related projects all in the works at this time.

They re-designed the drawbridge assembly in the last run of MMr to use a direct-drive motor and eliminate the gears - I'd love to see detailed pictures of that just out of curiousity as an MM owner.

Right now the plan is for only the CCrLE to have the Topper with integrated special game, may be subject to change.

Quoted from LTG:

I shot a comparison photo just now for anyone interested.

Wow, that definitely looks it's been greatly simplified! Does the drawbridge still tend to gap open a little at the top or does it close up pretty tightly on the new one?

Quoted from Swoods5688:

Ive heard rumor for a few sources that this will be a SE, LE title and no classic has CGC come out and confirmed the classic is a run on this title?

They didn't say anything about the tiers or the pricing in the presentation but maybe it doesn't make sense to continue to do two sets of code for the different display sizes so no more CE??

Quoted from sepins:

A Royal just got listed for $17,500 so We'll see if CGC talking about another run changes pricing.

The fact they said "no more Royal Editions will be made" is probably why that just got listed for $17.5!

Quoted from kklank:

I’m in. Concerned about the code. Wish they contracted epthegeek to expand that code. Terrific guy and super talented.
The only other Western theme I can think of that I love is Frontier.

His stance may have changed over the years but when the idea of him allowing PPS to use his code for CCR Eric was publically vocal that it would happen over his dead body. I never followed that saga at all but reading the tea leaves I think there is / was some bad blood between he and Rick from PPS.

Quoted from whthrs166:

The thing I don’t understand the most about the MMrre is the black trim. Why black? Goes with anything? Cheap? A deep dark purple would be what I would have expected matching the playfield and being a color of Royal Lor.

I can't speak for the powder coat on the RE because I've never seen one in person buy when I put my OG MM in a new cabinet with Radcals I used black with metal flake trim because it's what I thought would look best and I think it's stunning in person. I've never liked the mustard gold and purple is just too much IMO as there's enough of it in the game. If you really look at the cabinet artwork black goes along perfectly with it.

Quoted from PPS:

A couple of things:

- PPS is the licensee for these games, they are made under our license in collaboration with CGC, we work with CGC thru the life of the game and we are the initial approver for the game.
- PPS/Rick did NOT keep CGC from showing the games ... at all.
- The 'old' company (Scientific Games > WMS) is very involved in digital pinball, home virtual pinball, we are the only licensee for physical pinball and they very much are aware of what we are doing and have confidence such that they don't need to be very much involved. They are also the final approver of the games (Haggis games, CGC games, etc), so "wants nothing to do with pinball" is misleading. In fact they were very constructive and supportive for doing BKSOR with Stern, which was fairly recent.
Planetary Pinball

Someone should sticky this so we don't have to debunk the "Scientific Games / WMS has nothing to do with it anymore" posts ever few months.

Quoted from pickleric:

MMR was different. The topper came out after multiple runs of the game and it was stated it would be sold separately. Expectations were clear on that.
With AFMr and MBr, the topper was advertised as an exclusive LE feature.
There has been some marketing print that appears to imply the same is true for CCR LE.
I don’t know what will happen, but either way they are going to upset folks at this point. Pinball is hard.

They'll be SOOO pissed-off at CGC that they'll wait an extra sixty seconds before putting their name on four distributor's list for the next LE they do!! Seriously, with the way this market is I don't think CGC has any reason to be concerned that selling that topper to SE owners would have any material impact on sales going forward.
