I appreciate that AP doesn't steal your money and actually builds games within a reasonable time frame.

I know that's a pretty low bar, but here we are.

Their games so far haven't really been my cup of tea but if they can keep producing pinball games like an actual pinball company there's room for improvement.

#524 2 years ago

Notice they don't say anything about "new software." Isn't that what everybody is clamoring for?

Not sure why...except for a tiny bit of polish, the game seems complete to me. It's even got a wizard mode, a fun one.

Quoted from jfh:

Maybe you are thinking about CCC.
The original WMS is woefully incomplete and buggy. I won’t consider a remake if it only has the original code. Shame too because I live the theme and some if the playfield features.

I haven’t noticed anything missing besides the match animation / music, and it doesn’t seem too incomplete to me and I haven’t noticed any bugs. Which things are you thinking about?

I certainly may have missed something, I’ve only
Had it a few weeks.

Quoted from gamera9:

Monster Bash classic was 6000. So was AFM classic.

+ taxes and/or shipping and the color dmd chip

I’d guess the real price for most was actually around $6800. But that didn’t look as good on the flyer.

You guys thinking the top of the line will be anything less than $11k are dreaming!

These guys know which way the wind is blowing.

Looking forward to seeing what they come up with

Lyman and josh ain’t working for free.

The market is pretty nuts.

They’ll charge what they think they can get way with.

This isn’t being pitched as a “remake” competing with decades-old machines people have played thousands of times already, but much closer to a brand new “A-Title,” an appetizer to their forthcoming original machines which will compete with stern and company.

they arent in business to do anybody any favors.

Expect the worst.

Quoted from pcprogrammer:

CCR Classic Edition = $8,000
CCR Special Edition = $9,500
CCR Limited Edition = $11,000
Just a guess...

Give or take 500 bucks I think you nailed it.

#677 2 years ago

Don’t forget that if they think people will pay $12k for a top of the line 90s redo with new Lyman software and new mechs and whatever the hell else, they will.

BOM or who they had to pay and how much has little to do with it.

#681 2 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

My guess is 'expanded' will be an upcharge, to be released later.

Lyman is many things but quick is not one of them.

I suppose you are right, or this release could be years away.

Upcharge coming later? Maybe. But they still know what people are paying for and there’s still gonna be a sizeable Lyman upcharge just to get in the game.

Quoted from Tallon:

Would love to know that myself. I’m guessing all 3, don’t see CGC changing the format now that they have it established

THey make more profit on the higher tier games than the "classic." So that would be a good reason to stop selling the classic, if they thought it wouldn't hurt the bottom line.

I would agree it makes sense to continue doing all three tiers but I'm not privy to their books. It sure doesn't seem like too many buy the classics.

I got no inside info. My hunch is the release of this thing is at least a year away, unless they plan on doing a bare bones launch without the “new code,” of which they are depending upon as one of the main reasons to buy this thing.

Bad hunch.

Just seems you can never go wrong betting on delays when talkin pinball !

Hey I’d do that too if CG wanted to pay me for it!

The Cost for the new code will be 400….isnt that what they charged for the color dmd stuff when that came out? Maybe it’ll cost half as much for LE buyers, as that was.

Maybe $500 if they are getting greedy?

Quoted from joetechbob:

Ryan alluded to it being an upgrade kit that included more than just code.

I really hope people buy into this with some patience. It could literally be years before new code/mechanical add ons are available for this game.

#2354 2 years ago

So I guess this means Wayne isn't moving forward with his own CC remake?

I wasn't ready for this news!

#2482 2 years ago

LOL usually we wait till a company literally steals our money before we start talking class action lawsuit but I have to admit I admire the tenacity here.

NO TOPPERS, NO PEACE!!!!

Quoted from Roon:

How many people will cancel their order on the SE when CGC decides not to produce additional toppers ? I wonder...

Three.

#3722 2 years ago
Quoted from srmonte:

Cool I bet they would sell more classic's than any other version at 5999.00.

Think of how many they would sell at $3999!!!!

Cactus code talk or whining about the fact that CGC hasn't updated you yet on the situation is a little unseemly at this juncture.

Details will likely be months away, not days. If you can't handle that you should probably cancel your order now.

I don't think you did it right. Here's mine:
