Our Australian distributor has issued invoices as he usually does as part of the ordering process, I've received one too. But has not requested final payments to the best of my knowledge.

Plus 1 to this comment. I have an invoice for an SE but the distributor doesn't have the game yet. They haven't asked for a payment yet. Didn't even need a deposit, maybe because I already bought a NIB game from them?

CGC does not allow a distributor to collect in full more than two weeks ahead of anticipated shipping date.
Surprised you didn’t need a deposit but having an established relationship with a distributor almost always helps.
I'll chime in as well. I got an "invoice" from my distributor upon committing a deposit for an SE some months back with a final invoice to be issued upon game shipment, which of course has not yet occurred. While CGC prohibits distributors from invoicing/collecting for full payment more than two weeks out from game shipment they don't prohibit distributors from issuing invoices to folks who've pre-ordered as a general practice (i.e., showing deposit as paid and noting amount of final balance). So, in my opinion, the fact that some are getting invoiced doesn't necessarily lead to the conclusion that games are any closer to shipping than they were a week ago... Just my two cents. But I hope I'm wrong

I’d say you are correct

I suspect you are correct. But hope you are wrong too!

He's not wrong...even during the greatest of times CGC was always months behind schedule...my guess is LE's won't start shipping until Q2 at best.

True. But in the past haven’t they have chimed in and told folks why? I remember reading about the issues with getting the Monster Bash playfields right and the delay that caused. All we have heard this time is that SEs were going to be built while they waited for topper parts.
It doesn’t look like anything will be shipping until mid-January which puts things about two months behind schedule already. I’m in no rush; I want my game to be as good as it can be. If I don’t see it until 2Q/3Q/later that’s fine. Not cancelling my order or getting another game.
In the meantime I want to live vicariously though pictures/updates/discussion, seeing others getting their games and hearing about experiences. It would be nice to see some pictures from production, stories about the development process, some inkling as to why we haven’t seen a game, pretty much anything related to Cactus Canyon and/or something that resets expectations. There are hundreds maybe thousands of backordered games at Stern with buyers who in some cases have had deposits down the better part of a year or more and have absolutely no idea when or even if they will see their games. I’d hate to see the same lack of info derail the Cactus Canyon train.

I've purchased all their LE's and they have always been way behind schedule. They make great games, but delivering on time is not their forte. You combine past performance with the reality of today than its gonna be a long wait for many. I agree that it would be nice if they provided realistic updates, but clearly they don't have any interest in doing that.
The only thing off about the whole thing is the stated fact that this game was ready more than 1 year ago... guessing barring any major changes you would think it would have been a quicker roll out.
Said it many times before in this thread...

Unfortunate as Doug Duba was here with updates right after launch. Please come back!

That, and the fact that it was stated that the SEs would begin shipping in Novenmer and December.

Its probably not good business practice in their eyes to show a non working assembly line most likely being held up by parts shortages. They probably figure just not say anything and give the illusion everything is on time and they are making games as we speak but I highly doubt that is happening.

Sure. No interest in seeing a production line without games on it. And understandable if parts shortages are the issue. But they are already two months behind so it would be nice to have an update to reset expectations. Promoting an illusion that everything is on time just insults our intelligence.
Collect deposits, promise early deliveries, and then deliver 6-12 months later....seems to be the current trend in the industry
Quoted from pinballinreno:Good things come to those who wait....?
All manufacturers are way behind for the time being. All are over promising. Not a huge deal for this event cuz CGC has a track record of eventually filling orders. Not like they’re closing shop discreetly.
Stern is a year behind on orders. JJP, well, same. It’s just a luxury item. Just relax or if some cannot they should bow out to save themselves added stress.
Quoted from ClassicHornet:CGC already showed games on the line…
Where?
The playfield pics from August don’t count.

I don’t recall the playfield pics. Can you post? I do remember Ryan saying they had a bunch of playfield done tho.

Underside of playfields were populated though ?? And there’s a few of them on the line, so; it’s promising, I’m staying optimistic
I have not seen any pics of populated playfields on the line. Just stacks of blanks.

Didn't CGC say months ago that they had some machines already assembled and waiting to ship but they were waiting on the final ok from Williams? I guess that was a lie then?

playfields. They said they had... 85... I think I recall.. playfields already built.
It sounds like they are missing something that's preventing the games going in boxes. If this is the case, then we may see a large amount all ship at the same time.
Quoted from flynnibus:playfields. They said they had... 85... I think I recall.. playfields already built.
I thought he said the had 850 playfields ready to go when Ryan did the presentation at SFGE. I could be wrong tho!!

That is my recollection as well. There were trays of screened playfields. Didn’t see any populated ones or cabinets.
Quoted from jfh:That is my recollection as well. There were trays of screened playfields. Didn’t see any populated ones or cabinets.
Right. Same here. I sure they are doing all they can do! Looking forward to the next announcement!
Approvals delay ?
Materials delay ?
Hoping that its all over the line by now..
CCr on the line !
Yes please

Invoice confirming Order and Details and Deposit Paid is all that is issued No Requests for Final Payments has been Requested
Quoted from dog:Just got my LE invoice
Maybe but no mention in the email for any Further payment
Quoted from dog:Just got my LE invoice
Unless it has a Message Your game is Built and Ready to Ship its just a copy of your Order showing the deposit
No Australian Customers have been asked for anymore than the deposit, best you Speak to your Distributor rather than post Wrong Information.
That process lines up with each transaction for a CGC game I've bought from Ballypinball . I think some people were getting ahead of themselves in anticipation.

Pretty Sure we will see some SE and Maybe some SE Plus First before LE would be my prediction
Thinking a handful of completed games will pop up just before New Year, so they can say games delivered 2021... all the rest ...

They would pretty much have to be shipped already or be a local pickup. Pretty sure we aren’t going to see sheriff wannabes playing until 2022.
I think in today's age, a few pics or a an honest update goes a long way. Supply chain delays are a thing but just admit the reasons, and where you are at.
Heck I just ordered some material for work and was told 40 weeks, and we will let you know the price when it ships. My customer went for it!!
Quoted from transprtr4u:The next ? Will Stern get another out before CGC
It is starting to look that way
I have my reservation and deposit in for an LE. Would it be safe to assume the LEs will begin shipping sometime in mid to late March, at which time I would be responsible to pay the remaining $8,200?
Quoted from FarFromHeaven26:I have my reservation and deposit in for an LE. Would it be safe to assume the LEs will begin shipping sometime in mid to late March, at which time I would be responsible to pay the remaining $8,200?
You should be billed for the balance about two weeks before your game ships.
As for a mid to late March start it’s looking like that could be the earliest
Quoted from jfh:You should be billed for the balance about two weeks before your game ships.

Yeah depending on just how bad the part shortages are for them I am expecting a spring/summer shipment for the LE.
Quoted from sizzler747:Yeah depending on just how bad the part shortages are for them I am expecting a spring/summer shipment for the LE.
Guessing the matching serial LEs will ship the first two weeks or so (guessing about 10%) and 6 months for for all the LEs.
Quoted from golfingdad1:Australia often sees games first.
LEs included
Really? Often? Can you name any titles as examples of that?
How is that logistically possible when games are transported by ship (a process from manufacturer to distributors that took 5+ weeks pre-COVID and now takes much longer)?
I know of a couple of examples where the Stern distributor flew a Pro model in for promotional purposes (at great cost) but I cannot recall any Aussie customer taking possession of a LE before a US customer.
