Caveman died in a middle of a good game last night.
The controlled lamps went out (GI stayed on) and the speaker emitted a soft buzzing sound.
Powered off, let it sit for 20 seconds or so, powered on.
All I get now is the Video CRT running ok but it switched to GERMAN language from ENGLISH!

Also the scoring displays are dead. The MATCH lamp is the only bulb lit up top.
The GI is on but no attract mode.
The game for a while before this happen would quit in a middle of a game like this with the buzzing sound but a power off/on always fixed it, till now.

All fuses were pulled from holders and tested . None were bad.
Also inspected all the circuit boards in backbox for blown fuses but don't see any up there, just the ones in the bottom cabinet and under the
right side of the playfield.

I'm very green on Gottlieb troubleshooting so any advice or links would be appreciated. I did reseat all the connectors as well.

Thanks in advance!

Double UGH! I know lots of eyes must be rolling as it's like it's probably been discussed over and over ...

Gonna check voltages tonight...will post findings...

Looks like a bad original Gottlieb Power Supply board:
TP1: 65.1VDC OK - Should be 60VDC
TP2: 47.2VDC OK - Should be 42VDC
TP4: 0.0 - No Voltage; BAD - Should be +5VDC
TP5: 2.79VDC BAD? Should be +8VDC

DS1: Very Dim (+12VDC lite)
DS2: Not Lit (+5VDC lite)

Can't really complain since it is a 37 year old board...
Gonna pick up a Rottendog replacement tomorrow.
We'll see if I'll need anything else after that...

Update: Mounted in new Rottendog Power Driver board (GPS081) tonight. All is back and working w/ Caveman!

Thanks for suggesting checking the power first Tomass!

Before Scary Pics:

The Pin 1 of the header pulled out inside the connector. Repinning time.

Also was wondering how others mounted the new Rottendog board since it is much narrower than the original Gottlieb power driver board?
I drilled two horizontal holes in the fiberboard about an inch higher than the two original bottom holes. I moved the two locking mounting nuts up.
I used two of the original 4 spacers for standoffs as I only needed two for the new board. Worked out well.

I will post a pic of that later...
