I picked up a caveman recently and was surprised to find no club.
I am still looking to be amazed as mine doesn't work. The game turns on but does not boot. There are no images on the screen.

Thanks,
Sijcolo

You'll need both the game manual and parts catalog for all the schematics.

Some additional info:

http://www.flipprojets.fr/Videocaveman_EN.php

There isn't a whole lot of repair information out there for this title, unfortunately.

Actually there was an old black and white pinball-video game. That was the first. But it was more of a video-pinball then a pinball-video.

Yeah Gottlieb claimed it was the first, it was on the flyer.

It was the first combined pin/vid.

I'm having issues with my caveman, I know it's a given with the game. I've got video playing but it won't go into attract mode or won't coin up.
Thanks

Focus on troubleshooting the MPU. Check for slam switch issues.

I've had the mpu checked out and it is good. I've checked all the slam tilts I could find and it all looks correct.

The slam and tilt switches are separate.

The slam switch is a normally closed switch on the coin door. You can also use a aligator clips on the MPU to temporarily add the slam switch mod. That should tell you if the slam switch is the issue.

How was the MPU "checked out"? Did it boot in another game? If so, which one?

Does the MPU have a game ROM installed? Are the correct U2 and U3 chips installed? Is there any battery damage? Can you post good, clear photos?

If you haven't cleaned off the edge connectors with a pink rubber eraser, that should remove any grime and shine them up.

Next, check the coin switches. Put your multimeter on each leg and make sure it actually closes when you move the lever.

Also make sure there is continuity between the switches and the MPU.

With gottlieb, connectors are usually problematic and generally need repinning.

Slam switch was the issue. Thanks for the help.
