More pics with Stinkerbell and her kittens. They were literally born in a corner of the house, on a Mexican blanket, under my Firepower. Crummy old rent house I had back in 2007.
2nd pic is once they were big enough to get around on their own; they're huddled in a corner behind the leg on Space Shuttle. They actually slept like this a couple times, in a little pile. The little tuxedo kitten Oscar, only male in the litter, is doing his best to ferociously hiss at me.

Quoted from Nokoro:The next day, she started having seizures. If you've ever seen a cat have a seizure, it is frightening. This was full on foam at the mouth, release the bladder and spin in circles twitching uncontrollably on the floor. The seizures could be caused by the liver problems. The seizures lasted two days, and our vet gave us some medicine to try to control them. After starting the medicine, she hasn't had a seizure for 24 hours, so we're starting to feel better. We are still waiting for medicine to help with the liver.
I absolutely have. Adopted a little runt of a rescue kitten that was very young, and I noticed she had very minor but persistent tremors especially while sleeping. They evolved into full-blown seizures same as you described. Not liver-related, but no real clue as to cause. I did find that the less stressed she was, the less frequent the seizures were, so I did my best to keep her happy and comfortable. She had free reign of the house and could do absolutely no wrong. It helped that she was also the sweetest little cat I'd ever known.
When she was just past a couple years old she suddenly had trouble swallowing her food. Turned out she had a growth near her throat mostly blocking it. Vet gave her a cortisone shot which immediately helped, and then off to the specialists. After thoroughly checking her out she was diagnosed with lymphoma. They suggested chemo, which was terrifying but I decided to give it a try. She responded to it very well and more importantly, tolerated it well and was back to seeming herself, happy, playful, good appetite (most of the time.) The chemo was fortunately in a form of just a capsule once a month, but she had to go in first for bloodwork and a full checkup. After almost a year of this we had to take a break because her bloodwork showed it may not be wise to give her another dose at the time. She was fine for a couple months but then suddenly fell very ill and there was nothing they could do for her.
I don't get sappy about much and I hate to seem like a downer in this thread but I don't relay this story very often. That little kitten stole my heart and it still hurts that she's gone, years later. Her urn is right here in the room with me. Sad ending but I like to look back on the happy times we shared while she was with me. R.I.P. Shorty, she was my best buddy.

Quoted from SilverUnicorn:My buddy Hobbes is in ICU. Had a severe urinary blockage . I feel like a bad cat parent because he seemed absolutely fine until last night. Poor guy. They put in a catheter and will get lots of fluids in him to flush out the bad stuff. Hopefully that will work and surgery won't be needed, or else I may have to sell a game.[quoted image]
Hoping the best for y'all. For some reason male cats seem to be more susceptible to urinary tract issues and a lot of it comes down to their diet. Talk with the vet about that, though I'm assuming the subject has probably already come up. My aunt had a Burmese male that had cystitis and it was resolved by changing him to a particular dry food (I think it was the original Science Diet way back in the day.)

Quoted from Barr993:So I shimmy under TAF to measure the cabinet chocks and here comes Daisy to investigate...and sit on my chest.

If they weren't in the middle of whatever you were doing, they wouldn't be cats.

I see she's found the deluxe accommodations.

Quoted from JodyG:Darryl seems to always sit on Gold Wings when he has the chance. Hes pretty chonky, and he's the only cat we have that I actually worry about when he jumps off a backbox and onto the playfield glass. He doesn't look it, but he's a very solid 22 lbs.
[quoted image]
If it's the (required) tempered safety glass, even the chonkiest boi is of no consequence.

Quoted from SilverUnicorn:Hobbes can’t decide………..
Cool cat?
Bad cat?
Police cat?
Maybe all 3!

Hobbes is a cutie.
Many black cats look similar, to some degree or another, but Hobbes does remind me a lot of our recent rescue - Biscuit. He hasn't taken much interest in the pins yet (which I'm fine with, as he's a destructive little crazy man) other than jumping up on them for a perch to stalk the other cat.
However, here's a shot of him making himself at home in mama's nice Browning range bag.. with Firepower and Solar Fire in the background, so it sort of qualifies as "cats and pinballs"

Haven't tried this method before, but noticed years ago while at the compounding pharmacy that these are a thing: https://bcpvetpharm.com/products/bcp-vetchews - might just be available for Rx stuff, dunno about regular antihistamine and other otc products. Even so, a good product to know about if you have pets that just won't take their meds any other way.

He must figure, hey, these things smell a bit like mouse pee inside.. I bet if I hang out long enough, some will drop by.
