This (usually) works for me to correct bad behavior:
Quoted from Buzz:Thank you. We got him Thursday from the shelter and it's been amazing. He is the most social interactive cat I have ever meet. He loves to play and cuddle with all 4 of us.
Yeah, but does he have mad pinball skillz?
Quoted from SilverUnicorn:My buddy Hobbes is in ICU. Had a severe urinary blockage . I feel like a bad cat parent because he seemed absolutely fine until last night. Poor guy.
Quoted from SilverUnicorn:Hobbes says thank you for the well wishes! So far doing well. Seems much happier, and is eating like a horse! LOL
Well, my buddy Pablo just got diagnosed with the same issue and is currently at the vet. He was perfectly fine yesterday, and then, BAM! Woke up today to him crying and hiding behind the couch--definitely not himself. I hope that he pulls through like Hobbes did!
Quoted from Captainhook:Cats need grain-free food. They are carnivores. I'm sure that's what the Vets going to tell you so just go ahead and spend the extra money on good grain-free wet and dry foods and you will have no problems, and way cheaper than vet bills.
Thanks. We actually switched his dry food and treats over about a month ago. When my wife brought Pablo in to the vet, she asked if the change in diet might have been part of the problem.
But yeah, I have a feeling that wet food might be in his future.
Quoted from SilverUnicorn:Please let us know how Pablo is doing!
Thanks, Chris.
The vet was able to get the blockage free, but he is still not eating yet (Pablo, not the vet). Hopefully it is just him being finicky with the food the vet is feeding him.
We are supposed to pick him up tomorrow (provided he starts eating again).
Quoted from Captainhook:Our cats didn't like the prescribed food. Took a while to find something they liked.
Well, he came home and ate like a horse. I think it might just have been him refusing to eat because he was at the vet.
He made it home, but he is still having some issues. The vet is not really concerned, but I am. He goes in for a follow-up visit today. Let's hope it is good news.
So, Pablo seems like he is somewhat back to normal. Vet says so--I still have some concerns, but I am more of a computer guy than a veterinarian.
Vet recommends Hills Prescription c/d. I'd rather this than the (astronomical) vet bill. Yikes!
Perhaps we can get Hobbes and Pablo together to compare notes.
Quoted from FlipMyBalls:Our purebred Bengal Koda. Loves being high up turning on sink taps and pulling handles to open shut doors when he wants into a room. Trouble trouble trouble
You should teach him to solder.
Quoted from SirScott:So, Pablo seems like he is somewhat back to normal.
Pablo seems to be back to 100% after his scare a month ago.
Sorry to hear about Calvin. He reminds me of my old buddy Elliot--both card-carrying members of the Cool Cat Club™.
Quoted from SilverUnicorn:Well since we can't seem to have a cat without issues, I will share today's news. So it seems our Hobbes has diabetes.
Sorry to hear this Chris, especially after all the urinary issues he had previously. He seems like a special cat--I'm sure you will provide him with the best care that you can. Please keep us updated.
