Quoted from Bundy:

Reading about a fellow cat owner having to put their bellowed cat to sleep hits harder than a .50 BMG. Especially now since I had to do the same with my Ella yesterday after 14 years together.
I will still be lurking this thread and who knows, one day I might gather strength enough to get a new cat and start posting here again.
The picture is from this summer, Ella sitting in her favorite part of the garden. This is also where she will be buried together with her favorite toy once the summer returns.
[quoted image]

May she enjoy her sunny spot and pat her toy from paw to paw forever. Rest in Peace. A beautiful cat. Sorry for your loss.

Damn sorry to read about your fur baby's loss. I never dreamed I would open this thread back up to read about another loss so soon.
My heart goes out to you, looks like Ella had a pretty good home for those 14 years, you did good mate!

So sorry. It’s devastating. You should get another cat or cats when you’re ready. There are a lot of them that need loving homes. I’m sure Ella wouldn’t mind and she’ll always be with you !

I’m so sorry about Ella, friend. She apparently has a spiritual cousin in our cat, Banjo. Banjo loves the garden too. They look like twins. I’m sure she was an awesome cat.

So sorry, for the lose of your relative Ella. I know she had great times in her garden spot. Ella watching down from kitty heaven.

I'm sorry to bring this up, but I can't get this question out of my mind. What are you going to do with the body between now and summer?

With Oscar we had his favourite toy cremated with him. Misting me up.

I’m a cat guy, I always have enjoyed their sometimes aloof, sometimes crazy, sometimes mischievous personalities. My first ever pet when I moved away from home in college was a cat named Steffan, who I named after Martin Short’s dinosaur toy in the movie Clifford. Few people probably recognize that reference. Lol. Then I added Knickers, who passed away too young (age 9) from a blood clot. Steffan lived 17 years and was by far my most troublesome cat. Then we got Bailey and later Banjo, my dilute tortie-looking cat. I enjoyed all our cats, but I never feared losing one until Banjo. She follows me everywhere and if I stop for a moment she’s finding a spot to sit on me, or demanding to be picked up. Many pets choose “their person,” and Banjo picked me from the first days we had her. She was a door-dasher and fence-climber in her prime, so she wears a blinking led collar with an address tag and orange flag on it when she’s outside. She’s 10 now, and picks her spots to climb. She bullies our harmless, blind golden retriever and he’s afraid of her. But she trusts me so much she sometimes rides around on my shoulder. She’s one of the special ones you dread losing someday, but are thankful for while she’s here. Losing pets is no easy thing, but they are so worth it.

I had a sweatband skullcap that I would wear in the garden. Every time I would look for it, it could be found in Bogies bed. I lost my Bogie in 2016, and as much as I liked my headband I got in Key West on my honeymoon, it is now with Bogie. I hope someday to wear that band while running with my Bogie again.

P.S. I have a spinal cord disease Transverse Myelitis. I cannot run, I can barely walk and have to play all my pinball from a stool, I can't attend shows, fests or arcades because no one gives a shit and see 0 stools.

Update on my fosters to come...

For sure. All you need is one shoulder rider and the other cats notice. And copy. Now I have 3 that get up. Can feel my spine compacting everyday, but don’t have the heart to stop them. Also all my tshirts are dotted with holes from a claw slip now and then.

Oscar was our shoulder rider. He was a good lively solid cat. He developed breathing problems and battled cancer for a good 2 years. We knew he did not have much longer and our daughter was about to sit her school leaving certificate. So I decided to get 2 kittens before he passed in case he died on an exam morning. Stupid reasoning but grief does this sort of thing to me. Anyway Oscar lived happily one week with his brother and our kittens. He was fascinated by them. Followed them around everywhere. He hunted them and watched. By the end of the week he was throwing up blood so we knew it was time. We’ve had many cats as well. The pain remembering stuff like this lasts for a few years. My other cats that have passed don’t hurt anymore. And for sure the joyous memories way surpass the raw ones.

Love Banjo everyday.

Bogie sounds awesome. I think Oscar carried his meerkat around like he caught a mouse and used to tell us about it. We would tell him what a good boy he was and give him a Pat for being such a good hunter. His brother Charlie now has ha knitted little quilt square which is his blankie and he carries that around too. The kittens leave Pom poms and toys on our bed and my pillow. They’re funny things. They learn and love being habitual.

Shit that’s awful about your health, I’m glad it’s not terminal but chronic pain is awful. I have tendinitis so I can’t play too often. My forearms, elbows, knees and rotator cuffs give me problems so I play 3 times a week for an hour at a time. I have tried using stools to help my knees, so I can sympathise but can’t imagine the difficulty you must face. It’s good to see pinball is bringing you joy, and post some photos of your fosters!!

At first glance it does look like 3 paws in front and pair of legs crossed,
but thinking the paw on the right (of photo) is polydactyl.
