I am surprised by how many one eyed cats I have come across, we used to have one live on our back deck a couple years ago

I would love to know how he lost it, but he was a feral who was TNR'ed so we'll never know. It doesn't hinder him from watching movies and bird videos, which he loves to do.
Quoted from jibmums:Back in post #3824 I posted photos of our cat Willie, who we had just had to put down due to heart failure. Eight months later, just before New Years Eve, the anniversary of the day Willie was diagnosed, we were ready to adopt again and brought home this little boy who's missing an eye. I named him Jacks (One-eyed Jacks, get it?) and I've never met a cat who was initially so skittish. He's warmed up quite a lot in two months though, likes having his tummy rubbed, runs into the bedroom and leaps up on me when it's bedtime, and loves attacking and wrestling with his big cat brother (who outweighs him by a good 5 lbs). He's all personality, farts more than any cat I've ever known, and I keep finding his paw prints all over the glass of my pins.

Cute. They do great with one eye. My in-laws just adopted 2 young cats, who were very clingy to each other at the shelter. So they adopted both. One has only one eye. He is crazy fast and hyper. They named him The Flash. Both are very friendly and adapted to their home in about 2 days. It’s great when you have 15+ years ahead (hopefully). Our cats are now 14 and 10, and the older cat has kidney disease. Losing weight and drinking tons of water. She’s still eating normally, acting herself and using the box. But we are spoiling her while we can.

Our cat 20yr old Jack, who we had to let go a few months ago, was similar to your 14 yr old the last few years of his life losing weight and drinking lots. So your cat should still have some years left, but whenever that time comes you will know and it's hard any time or way you look at it

Our old man with kidney disease has been on Weruva soft food for several years now. It helps keep him more hydrated and is low in phosphorous. He also gets Azodyl in pill form once a day to help with the renal side of things. He prefers his in spreadable cheese.

Thanks, I’ll check those options out. We did get special canned kidney chow from the vet, but she started ignoring it after a couple days. I’m sure she’d eat it if it was her only option. My wife suggested we let her eat whatever she likes for however long she can. That’s a tough call. I’ll look into Weruva and Azodyl. If she can live a few years fairly healthy on those, I’m all for it.
We have had three cats that have kidney disease as suggested by the vet we gave them fluids with an IV under the flappy part of the neck has kept them alive for two or three years longer quite effective

So after Mittens(18) passed at thanksgiving and then Velvet(almost 19) in Jan I had to find a new family member to fill the void
Still haven’t decided on a name yet. Pop tart and jelly bean are some picks. Oh and biscuit

What an incredible cutie! Sorry about Mittens and Velvet.

Cute little guy. Reminds me a bit of my current cat pal, Banjo. Follows me everywhere.

Chunk was not in the group photo, so there was one extra visitor this morning.
We hadn't seen him in a bit.[quoted image][quoted image]
Ummm…looks like you need to change the water please.

That's a weird name for a cat.

I was referring to the photo from Pinkitten a few messages up; apparently quoting something doesn't copy the image.

So cool! A leader cat. Fun to read how people are liking new pins at TPF too! Sounds like FF and Godfather are hits, along with other good options like Scooby, PF and GTF. I really wanna play the new Fathom. I couldn’t attend TPF, we are visiting Canada. We had a trail guide today in a sanctuary. A bobtail cat walked with us the entire time. So friendly and playful. A bobtail Canadian trail cat.
