Quoted from pinwiztom:Jack the cat is 19 yrs old this weekend. We do not know his exact birthdate, because my wife rescued him in late September, basically found him in a box in a parking lot . His eyes were barely open, and she had to deflea him and feed him with an eyedropper with milk, in those early days. He has been with her longer on a daily basis, than any other living being in her life. He was especially comforting to her when her 17yr old daughter died tragically in a car crash 17yrs ago.
He is starting to show his age, getting very thin and boney. His walking is getting a liitle shaky, and at times seems he is dazed and confused, but his eyes are still clear and bright. He of late has gotten into the habit of sometimes peeing out of the litter box, not always, but often, fortunately when he does pee outside the box he mostly uses the piddle pads we have placed in strategic spots.
I have been a part of his life, for the last 12 yrs.
He used to love to play fetch with hair ties, and on occassion chase his tail. He mostly sleeps away most the day, one of his favorite resting place is on my lap. He also loves snuggling with my wife at night, laying across her arm or nestled into her armpit, basicaly nose to nose, somewhat to the annoyance of my wife. All our other cats love and respect Jack. They know he is senior, and desrving of their respect. Hoping he can make it to 20 yrs. Happy Birthday Jackie boy, we love you.
