Perfect restoration project. I have restored worse. Nice coin door and other good parts there. Save it from the landfill. That marquee is minty. Lots of good parts there. I would take it. Hidden gem. If only I was closer. Is the control panel spoken for?

Our cat Luigi had a similar issue recently (intestinal blockage).

The vet sent us home with one of those damn hard plastic Elizabethan cones. He couldn't even eat or drink with the cone on and he kept getting hung up on furniture.

We switched to one of these "Cat Unitards."
Really handy, no chance of him licking the incision, colliding with furniture, getting strangled or accidentally flipping his food or water dish over. There was also space at the shoulder for giving him injections which turned out to be very handy. The only issue is you can't monitor how the incision is healing.

He hated it of course...

Oh I need that lol. Geez is in the soft collar and is tolerating it but if it flips down he can kinda get at the incision. We're on 8 days post surgery and I think stitches will come out next week

Maine Coon Pantaloons?

Cheeto has some Maine Coon in him - all our pets are rescues or just invited themselves to live with us so not sure on the parents. His twin brother (Dorito) was a beast and definitely had more of the Maine Coon traits, and was almost twice the size. We knew Dorito was on borrowed time as at our first vet visit she informed us that he had a heart murmur. Sadly Dorito’s heart gave out last summer.

Cheeto is pretty much all fluff and it is quite funny when he gets caught outside in the rain as he shrinks by 50%.

Cheeto is a good name for him.

Saffron on a blue blanket. We res used her from outside a few months ago. She had bad eye damage.

Mavis as we just tried taking her outside this evening with a harness. She was out of it in a few minutes. Guess no walks for her!

This is my goofball Willie, who I first wrote about in post 3606. He lost his battle with heart failure today. I've been his caregiver since New Years Eve, seen him through his good days, which thankfully were many, and his bad days, which thankfully were few. He dealt with his disease like a real champ for three months, and took a turn for the worse earlier this week, which even for a few days he was able to deal with. His breathing turned much worse yesterday and we knew we had to let him go. We parted ways at home in one of his favorite spots (I highly recommend this instead of taking your dog or kitty to the vet for their last visit), and as he feel asleep, he gave me the gift of one last kiss on the cheek. We'll miss you so much, Willie, until we meet again.

Terribly sorry about Willie. I know the pain isn't "like" losing a family member; you actually HAVE lost a family member and the hurt is that bad. But like all of the kitties that find caretakers with pinball machines and take photos to share on Pinside, Willie won the kitty lotto and clearly had the best life a cat could have. I don't personally know what happens when we leave this planet, but if there is a heaven I am sure it has one more kitty today that will be hanging out on top of a nice warm machine, patiently waiting for the caretaker to hit that start button.

Sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your life with Willie.

I realize the above is not a pretty sight. So scroll down quickly.

One of our long hair cats (Munky aka Big Baby) apparently had some diarrhea
and got quite a bit of poo caught up on his behind
So my wife and I took it upon ourselves to clean him up and do some trimming back there.
During the process the cat understandably was a bit perturbed,
but we finally got the job done.

That looks like it hurts! I was once laying on the bed with our cat Ripley on my stomach, petting him. Something in the room fell down with a BANG! and he dug his claws in and took off like a shot. Ripped me and my shirt wide open.

Last summer, I took him out on the deck to sit on my lap (he's an indoor cat). A stray calico appeared and walked through the yard, and he started growling. I went to pick him up to take him inside, and he turned and locked his claws around my arm, then sank his fangs into me. I've been bitten before but this was deep. Five minutes later he acted like nothing happened, but my arm got infected, got cellulitis, swelled up and got hot to the touch. Had to go to an urgent care facility and get a tetanus shot and a regimen of antibiotics. Never trifle with a cat bite.

Yeah, my wife and I have to periodically deal with Shitty Kitty butt with Maine Coon.

Putting a towel around a cat and holding at the shoulders is usually safe for nail clipping and unpleasant activities while avoiding scratches and nips.

Lmao having had a Maine Coone and a Siberian now, 100% agree with that.

That is what we did in the 2nd attempt,
after he scratched me and bolted the first time
Overall he was a fairly good kitty
for all butt cleaning and clipping we did.
I would be scared and antsy too,
if someone had a pair of sharp scissors near my dick. (he has no balls anymore.)
He is resting quietly now on the bed, between me and the wife.

Not so much for trimming claws, but if you need to wash a cat, one trick I’ve heard is that you have them sit on a window screen laid over the tub. They feel unsteady so they cling to the screen and that lets you wash them.

Huge caveat: This makes sense to me but I’ve never needed to test it out, so I take no responsibility if it fails miserably for you.

I use zip ties! JUST KIDDING!!

Hey cat lovers! Any of you have experience with something called hyperesthesia? It's sort of a cat anxiety attack, they get all restless and start over-grooming and twitchy etc. Diagnosing is hard and there aren't really any cures, and it's not very common although there are plenty of YouTube videos showing it. I'm not even sure if my cat has it, but he did have a couple of episodes of weird behavior. The vet took blood and x-rays and said nothing unusual. Some say it's related to or starts because of itchy dry skin, which my cat has, dandruff etc. So I have him on a regimen of daily sprayings to keep his skin moist, and brushing him more, and starting him on omega-3/fish oils which I should have had him on already. It's happened 2-3 times over the course of a few weeks but hasn't reoccurred since I've been taking care of his dry skin. But being an overprotective parent and obsessive cat lover, thought I would throw this out there so see if any of you had any experience with it, TIA

Violet used to scratch a lot. We found out she has allergies which leads to skin issues. She takes 1/4 of a 10mg Zyrtec everyday. That’s what the vet prescribed and it seems to work great. She still scratches but much much less than before.

Apparently it’s completely safe for cats.

My vet told me our cat had allergies and to give 1/2 zyrtec. I've tried numerous times and she will not swallow it. She will not eat it in a pill pocket, she is just not having it. I expected to find poop in my shoe after my last attempt. I gave up.
