Years ago my mother had a Russian Blue like that. Very talkative kitty! He used to be aloof to me, but the minute someone came over to her house, he became the friendliest cat in the world.

She was a baby just over 6 months old...I'm on beer 10 so i'm angry not sad but this isn't the point. We just assume it'll be forever like our last cats but you never know.

In both cases, it felt shocking, upsetting and ultimately unfair. It’s just so sad. Sending you and your family much sympathy.

Sorry to hear. I just went through this myself. Bagheera was adopted with her foster-mate, Truffle. Super tiny cat at 9 months old. Turned out Truffle had a sizable cancer mass in her stomach. We only had her for like 3 weeks before she stopped eating and started failing.
Sometimes they are just dealt a bad hand at the start. Best we can do is give them a loving home while we have them, and do our best for them.

Nice! How is the quality on this thing? I want to get it, but our cats are 16 lb a piece. They use other cardboard scratching posts, and 2 I built from scrap carpet and 2x4's but this looks like it would be fun for them.

For size comparison, the cat in my pictures is only about 8 pounds. I'd say it's reasonably sturdy if the cat is not destructive. If the cat is destructive then I'd call it a wear item like any other cat product that's made from cardboard.

It will last a couple months unless your cat eats a lot of cardboard. We had a Halloween one last year that lasted about 3 weeks before the 2nd level collapsed! LOL

Hobbes is a cutie.
Many black cats look similar, to some degree or another, but Hobbes does remind me a lot of our recent rescue - Biscuit. He hasn't taken much interest in the pins yet (which I'm fine with, as he's a destructive little crazy man) other than jumping up on them for a perch to stalk the other cat.
However, here's a shot of him making himself at home in mama's nice Browning range bag.. with Firepower and Solar Fire in the background, so it sort of qualifies as "cats and pinballs"
