Those are Unifi Wireless Access Points. There is a controller that manages all the networking hardware and all that stuff handle the wireless and wired networking for both of their buildings.
If you're really bored.

I have four nearby chairs available. It's not uncommon that I have to move the chair at my desk away because a cat has taken it. So I just slide it over a few feet and grab an empty one.
I have one of the Ubiquiti Dream Machine routers for my home network. Highly recommended. https://store.ui.com/collections/unifi-network-unifi-os-consoles/products/unifi-dream-machine

I love their stuff. I've never played with the UDM, but hear it's great for residential applications.
Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled program of cute kitties!

Gotcha. Boy I wish I'd looked into these before I blew a bunch of money on the Google Nest mesh spy network. These are even PoE!

They make great stuff. It's all controlled by a Cloud Key, so networking configuration, changes, updates, etc can all be managed through an app on you phone or a web browser. The switches all run AR (Augmented Reality) now so long gone are the days of having to label stuff. Scan the AR image on the switch and your phone will overlay the switch data on the image of the switch. So you can see device name and the last 4 of the MAC address right from your phone's camera.
It's just all around awesome equipment. It's a little more expensive than your standard consumer level stuff, but it's much better. I just installed one of their in wall APs in my office. It's PoE powered and has a 4 port switch at the bottom with a PoE pass through. Screws right into a standard outlet box, so anyone that has Ethernet in their house or office and replace their wall plate with one which adds another WAP and a switch.

That is amazing. I think you just sold me. I never got around to labelling our patch bay anyway, but this is waaaaaaay simpler and cleaner .
Quoted from pinwiztom:Mojo (our tux) seems to have the best temperament of all our cats.
My tux, Artie, is a ball of nervous ticking energy.
Absolutely EVERYTHING scares him or makes him jump. When I recused him as a small kitten, the vet said 'He has a heart murmur. Until it heals, try not to get him too excited'. Four years later, the murmur is still present, and he runs from EVERYTHING. Poor guy, but I love him,
This is Beans, and we rescued him from the animal shelter after is owner past away. We have had him for a 1.5 years now, the sounds do not bother him since he is deaf. He's 18yrs old and we just found out he has a terminal tumor in his bladder. He is hanging tuff. That's our little Beanie Weenie.

So sorry to hear the news.
Hey all, looking for advice. The pinball machine was echoing pretty loud off the floor, so we added this carpet to cut down on the noise. It really helped at first, but the cats have discovered the new and exciting substrate and are now locked in constant battle trying to claim ownership of this strange land. It's even louder than before and were going to have to do something before the situation escalates further. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? In particular, which pinball machine did you get for the second cat?
Quoted from craif:In particular, which pinball machine did you get for the second cat?
You could probably distract the other cat with an empty box or chair according to the above posts.
I think the spike2 pins have sound settings for bass/treble, etc. Have you checked those for your sound reflecting issue?
Quoted from Neal_W:You could probably distract the other cat with an empty box or chair
Also clean laundry or a laptop keyboard that appears to be in use.
Quoted from girloveswaffles:With the weather cooling off, Snake Jazz has been making herself at home on the Patio again:

... and "The Boy" (The neighborhood Pema-kitten) started coming back around:[quoted image]
Snake jazz. Best cat name ever
Quoted from craif:I'm sorry, i should have been more clear. The pinball sound problem was resolved with the carpet. The spot under the pinball machine is now hotly contested and the obvious solution seems to be another pinball machine for the other cat.[quoted image]
Obviously! work every time
Craif - I agree, you can always get another machine and not be accused of being crazy. A cat, on the other hand…
Quoted from craif:...the obvious solution seems to be another pinball machine for the other cat.[quoted image]
I would then suggest Deadpool to go with your IMDN and other cat.
Quoted from Spyderturbo007:I wish I could help, but Violet is spoiled. She has 22 machines to choose from so no issues there.
The data is mixed on whether cats can count but even the most optimistic studies indicate their upper limit is around 6-8. I don't think you'll like my solution but Violet may not notice!

She can definitely count. She knows when I stiff her on her afternoon cat treats!
Quoted from Bundy:I would then suggest Deadpool to go with your IMDN and other cat.
Deadpool? How about bad cats, or mousin around?

For the cat those are grate choices, for the master I would still go with Deadpool
