Last night before dinner my son was playing our Swords of Fury and got a ball stuck, so he tried to open the machine. The lockdown bar lever is sticky/tough so he couldn't fully release it ... but with the lever out of position he couldn't close the door. A short while later I was passing through the area and saw the door open, so I adjusted the lever and closed the door -- so the cat wouldn't get curious and jump inside.
An hour or so later after dinner, I was in the vicinity and could hear the cat crying, but I couldn't figure out where he was. After listening and searching and listening and searching, it finally dawned on me that he was trapped inside the machine! When I opened it back up he was way in the back and clearly scared -- and he was trying to come toward me to get out, but couldn't, something was holding him back. He was tangled in the wires near the back of the playfield.
I called my wife for help, because we had to carefully & slowly lift the playfield without crushing him to get him untangled. Poor little dude. He was plenty dirty and scared, but thankfully just fine.
Swords of Fury also needed some troubleshooting after the incident ... his entanglement had pulled a connector off the drop target board, and even pulled one of the wires entirely free of the connector itself. Got it fixed and working again too.
Here he is, having now decided that ATOP the machines is a better place to be, than INSIDE...
20210819_165448 (resized).jpgWe are fostering these four rambunctious felines for our vet. Their office is finally about finished from repairs caused by our freak freeze and they had to place all their animals for a week. These furry friends were sadly bound for a kill shelter after they were dumped on the vet's door one morning. Apparently all the no kill shelters in the area were full so we gladly accepted to care for them while their office is completed.
They are named THINGS 1 - 4.
Then the wide, I mean white one, "don't bother me". I currently can't have my kitties lay on me while I nap so they get as close possible.
Lastly, Charlie making nice with one of our outside friends, Casper. It's so funny, our inside cats nor Charlie like each other but the outside girls and he are thick as thieves.

The mother was malnourished and some of the litter didn't survive. We had just lost our last Maine coon to cancer, and we were offered our pick. We took the grey one, whom we named Odin. No one wanted the mother, so we ended up taking her, too. She's still got some odd tendencies from abuse, but she's getting better.
They aren't allowed where the pins are in general, so I usually just post pics of them sitting nearby while I work. Odin is the bottom pic, Bestla is the top.

You're good people.

Thank you for taking care of them. Whatever was wrongly done to them should be done to the person who caused this !!!

Those cats have quite the striking look! Good on you
Quoted from pinballmike150:This does not prevent him from picking a fight with Clay multiple times a day.
I love how this is framed by the "biff" and "sock" from Batman 66.
Quoted from Coyote:You're good people.
Had to haggle with my landlord to get permission for another cat. But, she's cool and said yes.
Odin is badly misnamed. He looks pretty noble, hence the name Odin. But his behavior is clearly 100% Loki.

Get home from work to discover wife has them now named:
Squirrely Dan
Dairy
Katey &
Shoresy.
Quoted from Electrocute:Cheetah showing off her teeth! No worries, she’s just yawning.
All meow and no bite eh?
Quoted from Electrocute:Just “love bites”.
I loved those. My now-passed cat Zora taught me a game she wanted me to learn how to play, dubbed "The Game". Here were the rules/qualifications:
1. Zora jumps up into your lap for shared affection and body warmth.
2. After a while (no certain given time), a certain section of her person becomes "off limits to you" and if you should happen to touch her in that quadrant, she reacts by acting like she's going to bite you but really she would just "tooth" you. Sort of a "Gotcha!" moment, and you remind her that she "accidentally almost ate my hand".
3. You have options at this point. Option A: INSTANT ENGAGEMENT!!!! It's on! There is nothing *but* trying to touch The Forbidden Quadrant and you must Battle The Beast Cat for supremacy. Option B: Temporary obedience/agreement. You decide to avoid The Forbidden Quadrant and continue to pet the kitty as per usual, but must never touch The Forbidden Quadrant, lest we go to INSTANT ENGAGEMENT!!!!
4. Assuming Option B has been chosen, another inconsistent passage of time passes, with you successfully steering clear of The Forbidden Quadrant, when suddenly, as if out of left field, The Forbidden Quadrant has *grown in size*, and now comprises at least half of said cat's physical body. Both options are still open to you, but...
5. Eventually, there are no spots left on the kitty that are *not* The Forbidden Zone. You have no choice but to physically engage with said kitty FOR YOUR VERY LIFE!!!! Or, you know...at least until she gets tired of The Game and decides that she's won. Again.
I direly miss The Game.

This is AWESOME.
One of my cats, Artie, still loves the "Blanket Monster" game. It's not as detailed, but:
1. Artie gets up on bed, and looks relaxed.
2. He will seemingly abently 'paw' (no claws) at the comforter.
3. If something under the comforter moves (i.e. My hand), the claws come out, and he goes BEZERK trying to KILL it.

Oh, yes...absolutely. This is part-and-parcel of the kitty-on-the-bed experience.

Yup, I have found with enough time petting and playing with cats, you finally develop a second sense of where the moving 'no mans land' is. (body language?) I hear the Terminator callout in my head - "Pet here and here".
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:Paisley and Annabelle (aka Tiny Crumb) doing their pre tear down inspection on EATPM. They shall provide me with a preliminary list of parts needed by days end.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
What did they come up with?
Quoted from pyrotech:What did they come up with?
Thus far, they are recommending some new lamp sockets, new playfield, ramps, and plastics. Annabelle has stated that all mechs need disassembly and cleaning. NOW, on to the backbox area. I wonder what Paisley will say about that.

He has flipper dust on his paws in the second photo. That is a pinball cat for sure!
Well, job foreman Scribbles showed up just as Annabelle was inspecting the empty backbox. Annabelle reported her findings, and I belive I've been given the green light to begin sanding on the backbox very soon. Inspector Paisley was no where to be found.

Wasn't sure if an upvote was the right thing to do but gave one anyway. So sorry about Dorito.

Sorry to hear of Dorito's passing. I always enjoyed seeing his pictures in this thread. My thoughts are with you and your family.

You are a good human!
Sorry to hear about Dorito.
I converted my old pinball room into an office a few months ago so ignore the yet to be hung stuff and the wire dangling down the wall for now. Anyway, I occasionally have clients at my house to demo tech for them, so I purchased a second chair for the other side of my desk. I was working in there one morning when I looked up and saw Violet. I asked her if she had an appointment.....apparently she didn't need one.

You apparently have some of the best customers!

You need two ladies to come in and yell at her and point their fingers at her.
