Marble madness ... I'd play that game when I was a kid in the mall arcade. Never very good at it though

Very cute kittens

I agree, and when I have a place of my own, I plan to rectify that for one or two of them. I miss my kitties.
I was always worried about my cats hurting themselves jumping off the tops of my games, but then I saw this cat jump FIVE STORIES out of an apartment fire last week (onto grass). I think all spread out like a skydiver kept his speed down for sure.
We are going to be up most of the night checking on one of our cats (Jimmy Joe 1.5yrs old)
who swallowed a 18in X 0.5in long piece of soft plastic from a mailer envelope.
He will either vomit or poop it out hopefully or worst case have a bowel blockage.
He is doing fine now acting normal eating drinking playing.
We called our vet within 10 minutes of it happening (just before 5PM), and he said to just observe him and if necessary bring him to 24hr emergency vet (only one in town).
If the cat is still OK in the morning, we will bring him into our vet for check, observation or maybe xray or last resort surgery.
Fingers crossed all goes well.

Sorry to hear this. I can't help but think that some creatures are just too dumb for their own good, sometimes. If it was *my* cat, though, I'd be feeling as you do, so I'm sorry, and I can relate.

Man, I hope everything works out ok. Good luck Jimmy Joe.
My cat Salem is two and that little dude loves to try and eat all strings and plastic. Luckily he has puked or pooped everything out. I hope your little buddy ends up being ok.
Update on JimmyJoe
He went over 24hrs with being normal self, since swallowing the long piece of soft plastic from mailer envelope. Eating, drinking, playing , sleeping normal
Late today, he did finally start to puke. Twice in last 3 hrs.
What we found was interesting. Still no plastic reminents. But was finding jute fiber strands apparently from a couple of our older worn out rope wound cat scratch posts, (now to be tossed and replaced), but also found 4 hair ties, still intact within his puked up "hairballs". He does not seem to be in any real distress as of yet. Maybe a bit clingy, which is unusual for him. We have phone numbers of 24hr emergency vets just in case we need to go to hospital if he gets into trouble. Fingers crossed he shits or pukes it out soon.
We have a feral cat (or the cat owns us) that lives on or under our back deck.
We call him Otis or O-Tee.
Last month he must have gotten into a big fight with something
as he was gone for a couple days and when he returned
his right eye was closed shut and when we were able to see him open it slightly
the eye was bright red throughout.
We were not able to get close enough to the cat to grab it to get it to a vet to get checked out,
so we just fed it as normal and waited.
This past week he has been opening the injured eye more often and wider.
The eye is now more pink and white, and one can not really make out an iris or pupil;
so he is likely blind in that eye.

Curious coincidence, a couple years ago we had another one eyed semi-feral cat (Kevin)
that lived on our back deck for a couple years
until a neighbor moved and took the one eyed cat with him.
Both were orange tabbys.
Though Kevin was a whole lot friendlier and not afraid of humans or dogs,
but he did have problems with all other cats.
See pic of Kevin below>

So sorry to hear this. Can you use a humane trap to get him to the vet?

Cats have three eye lids. Hope the eye is just in the healing process.
I think all of us have seen those horrible pics of stray cats with eye damage that swell up like a golf ball, if it's not better in a day or two you gotta catch him and get him to a vet. I'm sure a bunch of us could each kick in $10 or $20 to help with surgery if it needs to be removed.

I'm greatful I haven't seen anything like this and feel awful that this could even happen. I say it all the time... God bless all the animals.
Now for some good news.
Jimmy Joe took a shit sometime in the middle of the night
and when I cleaned boxes, I found this.
The elusive plastic turd.
20210530_062522 (resized).jpg
It was a bit more compact and bunched when i scooped it out of the litter box.
Only draw back is that there may still be a small piece missing (about 4-5 inch long)
as the original strip tab pull from the plastic envelope mailer was about 18in long. (see previous posts above)
But if he was able to pass these pieces OK, my wife has good confidence the other piece will pass as well.

Jimmy is doing OK, seems to have a good appetite, maybe just a bit more tired than normal.
We will still keep an eye on him and his turds.
Quoted from Electrocute:Hope the eye is just in the healing process.
O-Tee's eye is much much better than it was 4 weeks ago.
It is now open most all the time.
We tried to capture him previous but he is too quick and in no mood to be handled,
the photo of him was taken thru a window.
If we do ever capture him, we do plan a trip to the vet to give him the once over and get his nut sack removed.
Quoted from Neal_W:The 9 lives myth has some basis in truth.
let's than hope he was not already at 8... (fingers crossed)
Jimmy Joe...Jimmy Joe isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, based on those pics, is he?
You do...you do *feed* him, don't you? Actual food, right?
Quoted from pinwiztom:Jimmy is doing OK, seems to have a good appetite, maybe just a bit more tired than normal.
In proportion, I think that if I had just shit a four foot turd, I'd be a little more tired than normal too.

See, all I want to do is reach out and pet that kitty, which would wake him/her up, and that seems unfair to me. I'd still probably do it, but it's still a bit on the unfair side.
