Actually it was the lower v on the legs - somehow his toes were caught and he was flipped upside down. Honestly I believe this was one of those once in a million events. We have had up to 7 cats and the chairs are 15 years old and never had any incidents before.
That said, people should be aware that any narrowing situation is not good for animals as their first instinct is to pull - I am going to 3d print some wedges to get rid of the lower pinch points. Another reason to avoid these chairs is they are the Bermuda Triangle for roomba vacs - it gets between the legs and pinballs around till a rescue occurs.
Jube has another 2 weeks in a cast and he visited the vet today and everything is positive
