Worked on my 2 games on loan at my oldest brother's house yesterday. Got the playfield glasses on in time but my game testing was ruined for the evening. Had to pet the kitty from that point on until I had left.

Quoted from jhanley:How much does a Bengal cost? Just curious.

My folks have two 7-8 year old female Bengals from the same litter. Identical markings. I think they paid about $600 each )They got the multiple purchase discount on the second!).

What happened to Mollys ear? She is super cute, I love her colors.

#2769 28 days ago

Probably means she was spayed at an animal shelter.
To help ID the cat so if she is lost and found by shelter again,
she will not undergo surgery again,
some clinics tattoo the belly with a small dot.

#2770 28 days ago
Quoted from Jenniebear:

What happened to Mollys ear? She is super cute, I love her colors.

She’s a cutie. She used to get in fights with her neighbor when she was younger. She is only tiny, but thinks she’s a tiger. We tried our best to keep her inside, but being a rescue cat, she’d always find a way to get out. On the few occasions she did get out she’d be straight next door to fight. He almost finished her off one time and we found her almost dead under a tree in the front yard. That’s when she got the split ear. Luckily the cat next door is now dead and Molly is getting into her mature years, so she’s calmed down a lot.

The split ear started small but has slowly been extending.

Hey guys, I need some input.

I currently have three cats. The original two - which I've posted here, I adopted about three years ago (I think? Maybe four?). Last December, I saved a stray that was on death's door. She (named Tiger) has perpetual health issues, and is about ten years old. I never posted any pictures of her since I do not let her into my gameroom.

Friday, I found another stray kitten (guessing about 7-9 months old?). He was starving and very sociable. He followed me home partway, and I just then picked him up. He started purring immediately. The no-kill shelter I got Artie and Yuki from hung up on me (twice, it wasn't an accident) when I called to speak to them, and my local animal control does not take in felines at all.

Artie does not get along with Tiger at all, and I'm worried about bringing in a 4th cat. But I ALSO do not want to just.. kick it outside. Or abandon it. But I'm not sure I want to bring it in. (ESPECIALLY not until I can take it to a vet and get bloodwork done to verify he's not carrying anything bad. For now, he's living in my garage, with a heater that's able to keep the temperature above freezing.)

Thoughts? Options? Yes, he's up for adoption. Active, chatty, and very social.

Thank you for taking care of him! Is there a separate place where he can stay for now? Room , heated garage or even basement till you have it figured out?

The few times we’ve taken in a new cat, we’ve put them in the bathroom and kept the door closed until tests come back and the other cats have gotten used to the smell. Of course, it means your bathroom gets filled with spilt kitty litter, but there are worse things.

First of all, that is awesome that you did this.

Try setting up a barrier where the cats are separated, but they can smell (*not* see) each other and are aware each other is there. They need some time to acclimate. The garage is probably a little too closed off. Eventually, you can consider letting them see each other through a screen (we used to use the screen door panel from our front storm door, which was replaced with glass) and a baby gate or something to keep them from leaping through. Cats are super territorial, as you now, and rescue cats always go back to their feral tendencies when they smell a new animal around. You may get lots of peeing too, so be aware of that.

This is a process; it's a pain. You might be able to acclimate Artie and Tiger this way as well. But what you're doing currently, keeping them separated, is a good first start. Youll have to figure out a way to let the new guy in, but separate (do you have a mudroom or laundry off of the garage that you can temporarily block off?)

My wife and son really love this show, and I was kind of annoyed at first, but it's pretty well produced, and lo and behold, the shit WORKS! Take a look a this clip:

most of the important stuff is in the last 2 or 3 minutes

What a beautiful cat! I'd take him in if you weren't on the other side of the world. Would you consider shipping him?

Kidding aside: are you sure he's a stray and not just a very hungry house cat?

Quoted from Jappie:

What a beautiful cat!

I actually have better pics - they're just on my phone at the moment. He is QUITE gorgeous, and shares a coat pattern with Tiger, which tells me they are likely relatives.

Quoted from Jappie:

Kidding aside: are you sure he's a stray and not just a very hungry house cat?

Oooh yeah. I did not get into the whole crazt-cat-lady (now) dead neighbor story. And I won't, other to say that she was partially eaten by the cats she DID have inside, but there were at least 50 to 75 outside strays that she would feed every few days.

Thanks for the comments, guys - to answer a lot of them:
1. I don't want to let my current cats get close to this one until I'm sure that the new one doesn't have any contagious diseases.
2. The reason he's in the garage is because at the moment, that's the only place he's safe. The guest room is available, but I have guests showing up at the end of this week, so they need the room and the bathroom. The downstairs bathroom isn't big enough for a litterbox, much less anything else. If I tried locking him up in my bedroom (master bedroom), MY guys would have a freakin' field-day trying to get in at night. I have a small heater in the garage, and it's keeping the garage at about 60 degrees (last night, when it dropped to 33 outside). As long as the little heater stays working, the garage will be somewhat comfortable.

I am (now) single, and am not sure I can reliably care for 4 of these little shits.

This is Bud. He was a stray taken to a shelter. I got him at 4 months of age and now he's 6 months and doubled in weight!

He likes boxes, Greenies, the Velcro on my computer headsets and watching Star Trek The Next Generation.

Give him time, He's still at that age where he's still learning what he can get on top of or into.
Snake-Jazz has been pretty good about not getting up onto things like furniture, but for some reason, every time she gets into the Garage, she goes straight for the table with the iMac and gets up there.
