Quoted from transprtr4u:

Agreed...nice looking cat!

He was a total bad-ass kitty to. The same neighbors also had a Rottweiler, and she followed Nichi around everywhere when they were out of the back yard.
Needless to say, no tags on the dog, a neighbor called SECA about the dog roaming the neighborhood, and it was taken in. They never even tried to get her back (and she was the sweetest dog you'd ever met!).

I've posted this one before... this was a common occurrence and not once did Minnie try to get the bird.

Such strange bedfellows.

Quoted from RipleYYY:

I knew someone whose mother had a parrot and then got a cat. She would lecture the cat with "No paws on the cage!" whenever the cat got a little too close to the parrot. Before long she didn't have to do that, because the parrot had learned to say "No paws on the cage!" with the same tone and cadence.

My wife's grandma had a friend who had a parrot who would say, "I can talk, can you fly?"

The joys of being the first Cats to put cat hair on fresh laundry before the humans put it away

I know what you mean. Yesterday I go to the car wash and spend 7 bucks and proceed to dry the car. One swipe of the cat hair infested towel I brought put a end to that.

I throw down a decoy towel, leave the other laundry in the basket, come back in 5 minutes and can fold, and put away unmolested!

This happens if I don't, or if both cats want the freshness. DOH.

Our joke is that Violet is the one doing the laundry in the house and not my wife. She always tells me how Violet did the laundry while I was at work.

There are three stages to laundry: washing, drying, and cat hair deposit.

Here’s a sad story with a happy ending. Last Friday my wife was driving to work at a pharmacy in Target. She noticed what appeared to be a dead cat on the edge of the highway. Except, it wasn’t on its side, but huddled down upright on its paws as if frightened. For some crazy reason, she pulled onto the shoulder and walked back. The cat was alive, and terrified. It let her approach and then pick it up. She could see some wounds and then a collar with a tag. She put the cat in the back of her suv on a towel. She called the number on the tag and a young woman answered. The owner was a young (19-20) woman who worked at a different Target. She was very worried and said she didn’t know what to do. My wife said “come get your kitty and take him to the urgent vet care now.” She did, and called my wife later to thank her. The cat suffered dehydration and some wounds, probably from another animal. He had been missing 4 days. He was an indoor only cat. He was placed on IV fluids and given shots and wound care. The vet expected him to survive, but said he might not have lasted another day. (Especially if near a highway). My wife was focused on the cat’s rescue, so no pics yet. But a reunion is being planned, so she can meet and thank the kitty for making her a hero! I was very proud of her courage!

Thanks, she really is. Anyone who has lost a pet, even for a few hours, knows that panic. We have a very sweet dilute tortie cat named “Banjo” who was a bold door-dasher in her early years. In 2017, she sneaked out the sliding door, which was open a few inches. It started raining steadily that night, and we were out in the back field and neighborhood until 3am searching. I created this poster, and told my wife to leave the sliding door open just enough, in case she returned. At around 5am, a soaked Banjo was in the kitchen eating. Now she is heavily supervised and carries credentials. She was gone about 8 hours.

I can't even imagine the horror. We don't have kids, we have Violet. If she ever got out, I'd take out a 2nd mortgage as a reward. She gets a harness and a leash when she goes outside.

And yes, I cut my grass shortly after Violet went inside.

Worried and didn't know what to do??? Post ads on Facebook, Craigslist , anywhere. Put "lost Cat" posters on every telephone pole you can find! Drive around the neighborhood looking until you run out of gas! Call a shrink or a doctor and go to therapy to understand why you're so stupid and irresponsible that you can't keep a cat from escaping outside. Your wife is a keeper, for sure!

If he could, he would chase the light forever.
Sometimes the only way to get him (Mojo) out of a closet or cupboard
or out of hiding is to bring out the laser.
Sometimes just the sound of the keychain
attached to the laser pointer is enough to get him to come running.

The sound you here at about 12 second mark is my wife burping
from drinking her daily allotment of diet soda.

Omg ya'll, it wasn't murray who was killed.
My wife didn't know the corner neighbors 4 houses down also had a black and white young cat. Thus when she saw it in the road near their house she assumed it was our murray. I even commented that murray had been so far from home. So yesterday I get a call from my kid asking if I was sure it was murray who was dead, as a cat looking a lot like him was chilling on our porch. I said no, but that I had buried a deceased black and white cat his size. It was just coincidence murray had been gone for about 24 hours.
To my surprise Murray was home on the porch eating some dinner last night when I got home from work.
What a bitter sweet time!
Here he is, chilling with his brothers.

If you ever see our tuxedo cat Mojo
please do not bury him.
My wife wants all our cats cremated (after they pass)
and interned with us when we are all gone.

Good pet owners don't let their cats run the streets. Here it is illegal to let them run loose.

#2548 3 years ago
Quoted from Captainhook:

All my cats “run the streets”. They always have. That’s living their best life.

No cat loves sitting in a window all day, looking out wondering what life is like outside.

#2549 3 years ago

I guess no cat loves being run over by a car either.

#2550 3 years ago
Quoted from Tuukka:

I guess no cat loves being run over by a car either.

Im sure they don’t.

Neither does a human. But we don’t spend all our lives sitting around while life pass by either.
