Just adopted this lii’ girl a week ago. Rightfully she should be on a Deadpool, bc we named her Domino after the character who has incredible luck!

She’s just starting to get to explore the house but she made a beeline for the pins!

Mac wanted to help me fix the problem with the chest forks on POTC, so he put on his thinking cap and got to work. Then he had to supervise the testing to make sure his help was effective.

Did you make that from scratch or did it come as a kit?
I know some our cats would love it, as they are indoor only.
My only worry is exposure to other outdoor cats or animals
and they might pick up some diseases or virus
as there are several semi-feral cats that visit our back deck.

I just parked it up to one of our back windows. It's really well made from Aivituvin pet products. $209 bucks and it was on Amazon. Free shipping. We only let her out in it when we are watching her. She loves it. Scout is a indoor cat only also but she has all her shots so we don't worry to much about animals.

You know, I used to think those things were ridiculous - partly because around here that thing would be taking up valuable real estate! My wife doesn't want our new cats to be "outdoor" very much at all - both of our previous cats died within about 6 months of each other, and under suspicious circumstances - and seeing our new cats (only about 1 year old) getting less and less active, and more and more interested in going outside.. it seems like it might be a reasonable option.

Our cat loves it. She stands in front of the window to get out in the morning. The dimensions of this thing is on the website. It sits on the deck and works perfect with our slide up window. It also has locking coaster wheels to move it around if you need to.

Well since we can't seem to have a cat without issues, I will share today's news. So it seems our Hobbes has diabetes. There had been an unusual amount of discharge in the past weeks. Took both the cats to the vet today (since we didn't know who was the culprit). Normal levels are 80-100 whatevers, and his was 455. So there's that. Unusual to have it in such a young cat (he's 3 1/2) but that's our luck.

Deciding if we want to go the insulin and shots 2x a day route, or possible enroll in a clinical trial the vet has available.

So keep Hobbes in your thoughts as we work through this. We have had a diabetic cat before, so that's not a problem. Just deciding which way to go with the treatment.

I feel for you. We've had two male cats that for no apparent reason developed diabetes at separate times. We went the insulin route with both. It's not as bad as you might think. In fact after about a month of shots both cats would sit waiting for their shots. By the way after about 2 years both cats had their diabetes go into remission and no longer needed insulin so it's important to monitor blood levels frequently. The first cat Baxter lived 5 years in remission and passed of unrelated issues at 16. The other Angus has been in remission for 4 years and is 15.

Thanks, We have had a diabetic cat before, ubt never this young. Hobbes is only 3 1/2 so it's a little odd. We are looking into options and my get a second opinion on the whole thing before we start down any path.

Thanks for the info.

Welp, inherited another edition to the Atari Daze feline family.
His owner's moved out with out taking him so we now have 10 outside cats. All males save one who just gave birth yesterday! No idea yet how many she had.
If any one in or around Houston has the space for a sweet boy, let me know. He currently goes by Snowball II but that is open for negotiations he says. He would prefer to keep his 'boys' but that too is up for discussion with him.
He's going to get food a water here as long as needed but my landlord is sure gonna be upset. He makes our total count 13, before the new kittens. And I honestly think he's the daddy, but that's another Maury Povich episode for another day.
3 inside and the 10 outside. Apparently I'm a crazy cat guy.

You all need to get a local catch, neuter, and release animal rescue organization to come and fix those cats that are hanging around if you are not the official owners. They multiply fast.

Here is one in Houston:

We’ve gone months without our older cat caring about the pins, but now that kitten was favoring Meteor, he decided to jump in as the new topper.

We just adopted this 11 week old monster sweetie pie a week ago for my wife’s b-day. I built the condo and placed it strategically. The thought of her trying to climb my pins terrifies me!

Thanks. We have started insulin for Hobbes. We did get a second opinion from another vet we know personally, and he agreed that was the best course of action. It's been 4 days so far and it may be subliminal, but I see an improvement. He is less lethargic (I mean, he IS still a cat) and seems to have more energy.

My first cat had diabetes, and unlike humans, they can actually recover from it. We only needed to give him shots for maybe half a year, and he lived another 5-6 years, finally passing from a completely unrelated condition at age 19. It really wasn’t hard to manage at all.

my first cat Tootsie was brought to the vet when she was a kitten for spaying and the usual shots and fed the cheapest cat food I was able to find. She never went to the vet again until she got old and stopped eating when she got sick and I had to put her down, at the ripe old age of 25!

Pinball code is apparently like pinball machines. If you leave a page open, a cat will eventually sneak in.
