Another advocate for raw food and the carnivore diet (if you can get your cats to switch!). Wife and I weren’t that knowledgeable about raw feeding before we got our Siberian, but was part of agreement when we got her.

This is what she likes and what she eats. Primal and Stella & Chewy’s.

That's a very nice looking Pokerino BTW.

Quoted from SirScott:

Well, my buddy Pablo just got diagnosed with the same issue and is currently at the vet. He was perfectly fine yesterday, and then, BAM! Woke up today to him crying and hiding behind the couch--definitely not himself. I hope that he pulls through like Hobbes did!
[quoted image]

Oh no! I hope Pablo is back with you quickly! I can't say about the other's success with grain free food, but we use the prescription diet now which is what they were feeding Hobbes when he was in the vet. The way we figure it, if the vet was feeding him that, it should be the right thing to do.

Not denying that the other stuff is good and worked for those who used it, just trying to do everything to avoid a return trip. Plus they both seem to like it a while lot, so that's a bonus.

You can get the prescription stuff from Chewy.com for a little less than the vet sells it for (and wil free shipping and a discount if you're on auto ordering).

Please let us know how Pablo is doing!

Thanks, Chris.

The vet was able to get the blockage free, but he is still not eating yet (Pablo, not the vet). Hopefully it is just him being finicky with the food the vet is feeding him.

We are supposed to pick him up tomorrow (provided he starts eating again).

Our cats didn't like the prescribed food. Took a while to find something they liked.

Well, he came home and ate like a horse. I think it might just have been him refusing to eat because he was at the vet.

He made it home, but he is still having some issues. The vet is not really concerned, but I am. He goes in for a follow-up visit today. Let's hope it is good news.

#1760 5 years ago

So, Pablo seems like he is somewhat back to normal. Vet says so--I still have some concerns, but I am more of a computer guy than a veterinarian.

Vet recommends Hills Prescription c/d. I'd rather this than the (astronomical) vet bill. Yikes!

Perhaps we can get Hobbes and Pablo together to compare notes.

We have Hills C/D as well, along with another brand (I forget the name at the moment). The vet had 3 different options and said we can interchange them, as long as they are the Urinary specific foods. I think Hobbes has gotten better. He's running around with his brother and seems even happier than he was before the incident. I am hoping that the dietary change will keep him problem free, as well as his brother. We feed them both the same food.

I hope Pablo is just as happy! Sounds like you caught it early, Hobbes was in the vet for 5 days.

Our cat Bucky loves to be held in our arms while we play Monster Bash. He has learned what the introduction to Frankenstein multiball sounds like and will get super excited watching the multiball action. Tonight I was holding him and he was very relaxed. As soon as the multiball intro started he leaped out of my arms and onto the glass. He can even be out of the room and when multiball starts he makes a dash for the game.

That’s awesome. I love how cats can recognize certain sounds. One of our cats comes running when he hears the back door opening or when he hears us open the treat cabinet.

I have a laser pointer on a keychain. I usually leave laying around on coffee table for occasional fun. If I so much as bump it, they hear the keyring jingle and run into room....and only that one! I could shake my car keys and nothing...lol.

One of our cats is the same way.
Just goes nuts for the laser or really any reflective light.
Just the sound of the laser key chain, is enough to get him to come running from other parts of the house.
Sometimes it is the only way to get him out of a kitchen cabinet or closet, is to get out the laser.
He will spin in circles chasing the light for minutes if you wanted.

Loves being high up turning on sink taps

Always wondered what cats would do with sink faucet with those tap on/off or montion sensor faucets. I use to live in house with old style two handle faucet, but cat still would on occasion be able to manipulate to turn it on, so got to point if i planned on leaving house for the day i would turn off water fron under sink.

You should teach him to solder.

He's generally only into counterproductive things. So if he did solder it would be just to make me have to work harder to fix it lol

Here's our taps and door handle style. He has them figured out

Quoted from Fairground:

Well the dynamic is that we actually have a third cat zeus. He's 14 years old and was very much the boss until koda got to about 8 months. Koda is 1 year old now and he weighs the most probably 12 lbs or so. Male bengals are solid and feel different than any other cat ive had. Almost like picking up a mini lion.

Anyways pecking order is koda>zeus>finn at the moment. Finn is 2 years old and is the "i wouldnt hurt a fly" type of cat and is actually very slim and quick and avoids most battles. Koda and zeus battle daily. That being said they all get along quite well
