That’s funny and so true. While you’re in the cabinet, light up those flipper buttons!

“Just ordered new plastic set from CPR”

If your right slingshot plastic is in nice condition, I’d like to buy it from you! Would you consider selling it? It’s the only plastic I need.

I think there’s a little confusion going on. I’ve had 2 Catacombs including my current one which will never leave, and both worked the same. Every player gets at least one chance to flip the bagatelle ball after their playfield ball drains on every ball. The player continues shooting the bagatelle ball until either the ball goes through a lane that trips an already lit number, or the player takes too long to flip the bagatelle flipper (“shoot fast or lose shot”). However, the player can take as long as they want to flip the bagatelle flipper on their first attempt after every playfield ball drain. So using the left flipper to highlight a number to hopefully light up is easy before the first flip of the bagatelle flipper, but after that there’s an inherent timer that will time the player out. Also, the upper rollovers score the 6 and 1, not the 8.

Remove the playfield glass and start a new game. Use your finger to trip the rollovers for “Spot 6” and “Spot 1”. Be aware the rollovers must be lit for the corresponding numbers in the grid to light. I say this because only one of those rollovers will be lit as they change along with the “Spot 2” target on the playfield via multiple switches such as the top star rollover and the switch in the back of the “B” drop target bank. What do your games do?

#558 5 years ago

If all it was supposed to do was set the targets to certain colors, why would it be “Spot 6” or “Spot 1”? What does the “Spot 2” target do?

Those are 44 or 47 bulbs. From top to bottom they are:
High Game
Tilt
Shoot Again
Game Over

Holy crap, so your typical totals for a 3 ball game average around 3,000,000+/-?

#772 4 years ago

1,000 per drop target down, period. Bagatelle has 3 rollover wires in each column, each wire worth 1000. So the bagatelle scores 3000 per ball drop. Check IPDB

#776 4 years ago

Shapeshifter, it sounds like you’ve got a switch that’s gapped to close somewhere. Not sure why it would score 20,000 though. Does it happen regardless of which drops are hit in each bank? Take drop bank A for instance, does it do it even if the middle drop goes down first, and then the left then right? Middle, right, left? Left, right, middle...

When the ball drains and you use the left flipper to move the lit #’s, it shouldn’t score points. Another reason to believe it’s a switch gap problem. Try starting a game and bang on the playfield, see if you get phantom scoring.

Here’s what’s in my game:

Well I just got my arse whipped on my Catacomb. Played 4 games and my best score was in the 400 thousands. That’s because I got 3X lit via the bagatelle after my last ball drained. All games, the bagatelle scored 3000 per ball thru the ABCD lanes. Even if the #, or Shapeshifter in your case the letter/color was already lit in the bonus, it still scored 3000.

#784 4 years ago

I don’t think you can trust this virtual version because at 2:15 in the video it shows the ball draining and then a ball just appears on the playfield again. Although there are 2 balls locked, there is no 2X or better lit so they shouldn’t have released.

#789 4 years ago

Shapeshifter, what happens if you just knock one drop down on any bank, then one on another bank, then one on a third bank? Do you still get 20,000?

Yes, go the CPR route and buy a brand new set. I’ll help defray the cost by buying your old right slingshot plastic if it’s in decent, unchipped condition!

Mine does the same as yours. This is the second Catacomb I’ve had and the first also did this. Could it be normal?

#932 4 years ago

Exactly like both of mine

Could the bulbs be blown in those 3 areas, making you think they’re not awarding an extra ball but they actually are when triggered? Don’t forget only one of them would be lit at a time too.

I can get that same loud screech if I turn off my Flight 2000 and then turn it on again right away.

You should be able to spot all #’s via the bagatelle.

#1285 1 year ago

Scenario: Start a game and plunge the ball and have it go thru the spinner and the ball drains right to the outhole, lighting NOTHING in the bonus “toast”. Now the bagatelle is active. Theoretically you can light EVERY bonus # in the “toast” from the bagatelle.

#1299 1 year ago

And you have all day to decide which number (or letter on later playfields) to pick with your FIRST attempt at the bagatelle after each playfield outhole drain.
