Quoted from AlexSMendes:

Man, if you mean the wire gate, just like I said before, I improvised with a paper clip.... But, below the "B" I did put a rubber between the 2 posts, and as far as I am concerned, that's the correct original Stern solution.... Can you please, enlighten me what you really need?

I see what you mean now , i just looked at the IPDB and yes you are right , i will put a rubber between those posts as you suggested / Below the B instead of the 2 single post rubbers i have on it atm Cheers

I need hi-res PF scans to make overlays near both hole kick outs. Anyone?

This is a before pic of the area before the art restoration ,DSCF0858.JPGDSCF0858.JPG
And a couple from during and after the art work , I will get a couple of better shots from directly above for you in a few days .

no problem , I just sent you a PM regarding the wire form...

#109 8 years ago

Thanks guys for the pics of the wire form i was missing .
here all the results ...
No 1 was a bit to short and no good , ( I then modified the design a little to stop it hitting a post rubber ) and No's 2 and 3 seem to work well .. But they may need a few tweaks when tested in a working game.
I made one for you amendes, you can throw away that hair clip , no 3 on the pics...

I remember seeing a few Catacombs around but not sure if i played it as a youngster in the early 80's.
I can't wait to play this game!!

Very nice man..... PM'ed you! Thank you so very much!

Another trial of the plastic set arrived today!

Still 2 minor issues to deal with (lack or mis-position of the holes)... overall it looks good!

Third time will be the charm!

My game is not on legs but I am somewhere in the 1.6M range or very low 1.7M. 1.3M is a great score. I have only scored that a few times in my entire ownership of mine which is about 10 years.

Quoted from Redketchup:

I can send you a replacement I bought some years ago, white but play like the original...
PM me your adresse if you want it

New bagatelle ball arrived today, courtesy of fellow pinsider RedKetchup! It has an overall better feel to the game than the ball I was using (mine was slightly lighter and bigger than the new one...).

Can't thank you enough, man!

#117 8 years ago

Gosh I'm glad to be in this club now.

#118 8 years ago

HELP!!!! Out of nowhere my machine stopped making sounds... Turned it on today and now I got only the speeches.... does anyone have any tips on why it may have happened and how to fix??

#119 8 years ago

Start off with connectors. If you have the IDC ribbon cables those are always suspect. Then check to make sure you have 12V on TP2. I've had R1 go bad before.

Thanks man, I'll try to take a look into it! Let's see what I accomplish!

Hey I need to make one of these. do you think you could snap a pic of yours with a ruler next to it?

#122 8 years ago

My machine was also missing this wire, so I researched making my own. I found these a while back on RGP, I can't remember who posted them there. I did not take these pictures, only sharing

I like the general gameplay, but I don't care for the backbox mini-game after each ball. I feel it just slows everything down.

#125 8 years ago

I am in the process of tearing down and rebuilding the game. Got it all working and my question is should I simply replace the plastic rod/ring assembly with a metal one. The existing ones are good and non broken .

Would you share some pics of your assembly?

#127 8 years ago

I will try to get some pictures of it. It is a grey plastic rod/ring assembly along with the plastic assembly that holds everything together, like that of Data East and Alvin G.

No.

The plastic ring ones are less abrasive to the ball, and much slicker = faster play.

Absolutely not. The Classic Stern Police will be after you if you do. Seriously though, those plastic rods/rings are one of my favorite features and just one of the many features that set classic Stern apart from the rest.

Here are the pictures.

20150816_191843.jpg20150816_191843.jpgAre you guys refering to these white rings?

#135 8 years ago

No that's the base (although that's a special piece too), we're talking about the grey rod and ring.

Finally replaced all my plastics with a new reproduction set and as far as I'm concerned it looks amazing.... If anyone wishes to acquire a full set or just a few parts, please PM me!
