I’m messing around in the garage tonight with some ideas for carpet protection after I finish my game room. Using maple and just some linseed oil right now but I plan on clearing them. I want to make a set to match some of my games too. Going to try to dye some of the more figured wood I have and see how that turns out. I may make some extra sets if this goes well. Will probably do an oak set that is stained black and then cleared for my firepower.

The plain maple is just from the store. The curly stuff came from an amish sawmill actually. Love that stuff

The blue is not my picture but I have some dye coming to give that a shot on my whirlwind.

Yes he made them in stained oak. Unfortunately he has quit making them though. Definitely the inspiration for these.
