Good news! I know you have been busy with King Pin, but any developments with the Pinball Circus pinball ? Thanks.
Quoted from pkiefert:Since Python's Pinball Circus requires a much larger amount of re-design, Kingpin is being done first to give us the resources to finish Python's Pinball Circus.
Once Kingpin hits the assembly line, it's back to fulfilling our promise to Python.
The whitewood we built of PPC was mainly done to give us a machine to compare any updates/changes so we can make sure they improve the game. For instance, the snake between the flippers really didn't work as intended now that we tested that out on the whitewood vs the original. The snake was an important part for Python, so the snake will likely be repurposed elsewhere in the game. Most likely as a kickback in an outlane or something.
Items such as adding a real plunger and skill shot, and a few other items to make it play more like a pinball and less like a redemption are all in the roadmap. So far most of the planned physical changes are in the bottom half of the main playfield.
Paul
Thanks
Quoted from PaulCoff:Does the situation with suncoast affect kingpin at all?
Who will be manufacturing the Kingpin games?
https://www.pinballnews.com/site/2019/09/23/suncoast-arcade-in-chapter-11/
KingPin has not yet chosen a company yet.
Quoted from transprtr4u:Just looked up Redline Fever , very cool
I saws it at the show. Unique indeed.
Quoted from athens95:Been following this thread for a while. I am guessing it is fair to say that the Corona probably slowed or killed this opportunity?
Slowed down for sure.
Quoted from athens95:I hear crickets on this project. Might be dead?
With what is invested, I do not think they will let it die and abandon it.
Quoted from TomDK:Does anybody know where are the 8 Kingpin´s ?
I guess the team from Circus Maximus has one, 2 are in pinball museums .... where are the others ?
On pictures I saw one machine with a "handdrawn" frontdecal. It was the machine from Gene Cunningham, it also had a pistol shooter rod instead the red button.
Would be nice to know.
I think one was lost unfortunately due to a fire.
I still have faith in the King Pin project. I know they were shopping for a manufacturer to build the games.
May be that is why CGC is taking so long....
For what it's worth, at MGC 2019 during the player appreciation pizza time fest Paul and James found their way to our table. They were discussing King Pin cabinets and how they ( Paul /James) anticipated proto cabinets in the coming months.
Again that was 26 months ago , so not sure where it stands now.
Quoted from Warzard:I’ve heard playfield issues for more than a year now and they overcame this by free extra support on the project. A prototype? I think the COVID will be erased from earth at that time it will happen.
I’m still wondering what was the point to build a first Kingpin which will not match the planned production one on anything.
Nice show off at the pinball events thought, it created talk at least and finally, a nice poster for the game room …
But, you went inactive. Now what.
Quoted from LTG:Maybe because post 848 was a copy from a different posters post 844, which that poster deleted in a few minutes ?
LTG : )
Could be , although I was being a smartass at the fact warzard up and ran away.
Is it possible that King Pin was set to go at one of the manufacturers, but being they ( manufacturer) are so behind it can't be done at the time being. ?
Quoted from PinStalker:That's what I want so bad: Pinball Circus. Absolute holy grail (for me). Love the theme more than any other game (and the mechs in it).
I'd buy a Kingpin just to help that game become reality.
Pinball Circus for me as well. Was so excited to see it and play at Pinball Expo a few years ago.
This is Gary Gnu, and the 'No Gnews Is Good Gnews Show'.
But is no news good news????
I, too, am losing faith in this project.
Quoted from dudah:Pinball Circus would be wild, I’m curious how many they could sell. I’d imagine Kingpin is an easier sell and could bank roll Pinball Circus
That was the plan at the time.
Quoted from Paul_from_Gilroy:According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Kingpin trademark WAS owned by Pinball, Inc. until 03/02/2020 when it was abandoned. That's a shame, as they had intended to remake the game. Someone in the Netherlands trademarked "Kingpin" on 02/23/2023. I guess it just confirms the earlier posts.
I remember at Midwest Game Classic 2019 Circus Maximus were having prototype cabinets made.
That's the last I heard of anything.
Quoted from JAG94:I bought the translite as a way to secure my spot like 5 years ago...
So, what's up with this?
It appears as a no go.....
Really sad to see it this far, then go silent and what appears to be Given Up.
Quoted from PinStalker:The real travesty is no Pinball Circus
Agreed, this is one I really want.
