On my Capcom Airborne, it bothered me that one flipper was aligned slightly lower than the other. I finally got around to adjusting them so they aligned properly, when I noticed that one flipper fully up was now higher than the other. After some more investigation, I noticed that there are two different flipper linkages, one with a tapered end, one with a rounded end. The tapered ended one slides further into the coil sleeve, and allows the one flipper to travel further up than the other.

My question is if there is any way to fix this and/or get replacement parts, or is the only option to swap over to full Williams assemblies? Any input is appreciated.

Quoted from LTG:

Put something inside the coil near the coil stop. To limit how far the plunger can travel.
LTG : )

Looking closer I'm pretty sure they have different coil stops too (one is shiny metallic, the other black). That may be part of the equation.

Maybe I can get away with just swapping coil stops. I think I saw somewhere that someone used DE coil stops with a washer under them to get them to the right height from the mounting bracket.

bigguybbr - if it helps, I took these pics years ago when I was figuring out what to use for a rebuild. The plunger without a link, the black coil stop, and the return spring are NOS Capcom...

That's awesome info, thank you. I was able to find the Capcom coil stops from Marco (https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/A-00378-1).

For the plunger and link assembly, I found where other have used the Bally/Williams later style ones with success (https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/A-15847)

For coil tubes, I used the SKU from the Capcom manual, and found this 1-3/4 x 1/2(https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/03-7066) I thought I saw in some other pictures a user put in a longer one, so I'll see when I get everything apart if this is right.

Last I grabbed some bushings to swap out while I'm in there (https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/03-6014)

Fixed everything today. Different length plungers. Different size coil stops. No wonder they were all jacked up.

I also swapped over to some new titan rubbers on the flippers. It’s like a new game.ADF66D6B-1341-4DB1-9031-01FBD28A2B81 (resized).jpegADF66D6B-1341-4DB1-9031-01FBD28A2B81 (resized).jpeg
