While cleaning my MPU 100 I broke the capacitor at C5. (strange but it still boots). C5 is a radial tantalum 4.7 uF 25 V. I don't have any spares but I do have axial tantalum. I've heard stories about these things blowing up so I want to be sure I install it properly. It's not marked positive or negative. One end is tapered. The other end is square. Which is which.

Thanks LTG. You'd think they would mark " + " for us non - electrical engineers.

Well, I'll be.... It is marked. Plain as day.

How did my 73 year old eyes miss that.

With the horror stories I've heard about installing them backwards you'd think they'd be marked better.

    Thanks

    Bob
