Can't Sea The Ray for the Water

Letter received on Saturday April 9th 2016.

Hi LLoyd,

Our 1971 (but new to us) Bally Sea Ray gives 4 balls when set for 5-ball play, and 2 when set for 3... any idea what to check? If it helps, the machine also requires 2 pushes of the credit button to get 1 game, and never moves from player 1 to player 2.

As you can see, it's doing some kind of funky arithmetic!

Thanks,

Captain Nemo

Dear Captain Nemo

There is likely a ball stepper unit, see that it steps up smoothly and resets fast and smooth - to be sure it isn't gummed up. Then make sure the wiper arm on it isn't off by one notch.

Check the credit wheel switch wiring, someone may have gotten creative with wiring to try and make it free play. A schematic may help some for this. Also what ever decides player one or player two isn't frozen in time.
