There is a time limit in place for editing old posts. You cannot edit posts older than X days, where X depends on how long you have been a member on Pinside.
You should however *always* be able to edit Opening Posts (first post in a topic) so that appears to be a bug. I will look into this!
I fixed a bug, you should now be able to edit your opening posts indefinitely.
To be clear, here are the editing rules:
On Pinside you can edit your posts up until a certain time. E.g. New users get 48 hours to edit their posts, established users get a year. And some values in between.
You can *always* edit your opening post, no time limit. This helps people updating the opening post in an evolving thread.
