Quoted from dirkdiggler:Might be time to pull those burnt fan leaves
No no. What? Those sun leaves are not "burnt". Towards the end of the flowering process, the plants draws nutrients out of the defunct sun leaves. Totally normal. Don't remove them, you'll stunt the natural flowering process.
Quoted from thadawkins:This is definitely the best Club on Pinside!
Right here with you. Even with the Star Wars shirt! Woot.
Quoted from Brian541:This is how we do it in Oregon,Its on like donkey kong
Very nice! What kind of grow setup?
I just switched to "CYCO PLATINUM SERIES PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE NUTRIENTS" for the first time. This is my first time flowering with this stuff.
Quoted from SilverBallKid:Seeds were almost always included in what you bought.
Crazy eh? (Male) seeds in there shows how crappy the production standard was. Male or herma. characteristics should have been "weeded" out way sooner than at flowering time. Not to mention, polinating male flowers among your female plants can ruin everything. Like I said, crappy standards and no attention to details.
Quoted from Luckydogg420:I don't think with 4 plants that I could smoke for free.
Wow. Really? 4 plants can yield a lot. If you flower 4 plants at a time, which means you'll be re-starting from clones (4 of them) right after your harvest, means you can harvest every 3 months. That's 1 month for vegging, then 2 months for flowering. Keep in mind that your plants will grow an additional 25% during flowering time...
Quoted from loppydog:quite a few leaves left on them
That's a good question. Normally, I do not leave that many sugar leaves. This particular species had TONS of trichomes on the sugar leaves. So I decided to keep some, and have less trim for edibles and/or whatever. I had never seen that many nice trichs on sugar leaves before. First time growing this species, so maybe it's common? Not sure.
For sure, the G13 indica hybrid I grew just before this batch was not the same at all.
In case you're wondering, I use a microscope to look at the trichomes, and their location and quality.
Quoted from loppydog:I am looking to start growing from seed
So far I have avoided doing that because sexing plants is time consuming, and a real b$tch compared to just going with female clones.
Also, one "bad" theory about feminized seeds is that a hermie was involved in their propagation, so in turn the plant will be easier to turn hermie itself.
(so I read)
That's a bad english sentence, but you get my drift.
Quoted from Boondocker:Confirmed, you are a geek!
Says the guy who'd put a ColorDMD on his truck if he could...
Quoted from loppydog:here is a pic of mine after harvest
What type is it? How long did you have them in flower?
Those buds look young to me (judging by how light green they are).
Do you use a microscope? If not, I highly recommend the use of one. It's THE only way to harvest at the right time. Regardless if I'm a geek or not.
Quoted from loppydog:When you say "shake", do you literally shake to seperate the trichomes from the leaves?
No. Shake is general term for all the trim that's left.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Sexing is super easy
Yeah, using your eyes is easy indeed. That's not what I meant.
For flowers or balls to appear, the plant (or sections of it) has had to be in 12 hours darkness mode (12/12) for weeks.
I prefer to grow my plants to full size, in one go, because I already know they are female.
Quoted from loppydog:I use H2O2 and small amounts of Calcium Hypochlorite
Please tell me more about the quantities you use (per gallon). I used chlorine in my last batch. But for me, with pythium, I am always fighting the clock. I use enough clorine to offset it and to last until harvest. I have a bottle of the strong h2o2. Does that stuff expire?
Quoted from BMHouze:Its all fun amd games until your outsourced clones come in with spider mites. That will shut you down for a good year.
That's why I like to grow in the winter, so my grow rooms get to about 58F when the lights are not on. Spider mites do not like the cooler temps. I have gotten mites before, never did I ever lose a crop to them. Neem oil products will slow them down. Mighty-Wash too. The main product I use to slow them down to a crawl is Azamax. I time it so I can nuke them really good just before flowering, so that I don't have to really spray during flowering. Here where I grow, you cannot trust anybody with new clones. I always pre-treat and nuke my new clones, just in case. In the mid-west here, Spider Mites are prolific and you have to plan for them.
Quoted from Delta9:Wait till u get broad mites your gonna have so much fun
Like I said, it's part of growing in dry, hot climates. It's not a show-stopper.
Quoted from Delta9:You have no idea what im talking about
Then don't take my word for it. I'm not saying mites are OK. I'm just saying you can spray for 'em and delay them enough to flower. It still sucks.

"However, if you get desparate treating plants daily with Neem oil is very effective at killing broad mites when nothing seems to be working."
Azamax is a neem oil product. I already posted about it just above this thread. Also this article mentions Mighty Wash, as I previously posted also.
I don't pretend to know everything, but I have grown enough to have been hit by spider mites and have never lost a plant to them. Now, I also did get hit with pythium once, and lost a plant to it. But I was inexperienced with the concept at the time...
Quoted from loppydog:Here is the recipe I use. I make a half gallon concentrate at a time.
Thank you so much! I will research this. Cheers!
hm. coco = dirt media made mostly of plant fibers from the coconut. in my case, it's a planters mix.
EDIT: This is the product I use: http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/index.php/item/bush-doctor-coco-loco.html
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:A puzzle Box to hold stash, with a secret in itself.....Cannabis Inlay!
ah man, that's just so cool...
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Maybe tax us for having more plants then possible jail time.
I am assuming you mean "Maybe tax us for having more plants instead of possible jail time."? Probably than instead of then. Makes a huge difference in your sentence. Jail time for possessing plants would totally suck. There's no way they can enforce the plant height, unless they previously were able to acquire a warrant for your property. For regular Joes that would grow at home, law enforcement would never know that your plants are 4 feet tall. It's like Vampires, you have to invite them in your house first...
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Also they're going to let the provinces decide?
Sure. It's not crazy. In Quebec the legal drinking age is 18, and in Ontario (just next door!) it's 19. Provinces have decided that since the beginning of time. Well, not really. But you get my point.
Quoted from Azmodeus:I wonder how mj is traveling around planes these days.
In vape pens, "hidden" in makeup bags.
Thanks guys. It's a Kush variety. It's not normally purple. I just thought the shot looked interesting under my LED lights.
Cheers!
Some eye candy from my grow op. . Edit: it's a mirror behind them. There are less plants than it appears. Complying with Colorado amendment 64.

Quoted from Londonpinball:You got LEDs going ? Is that the purple light I
Yeah. But I'm not using them that much anymore. I use digital ballasts and 1000w hps bulbs. Much better penetration.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:What strain you growing Bendit
These are old pics. I believe most were master Kush. I think some Starfighter also. Mostly indica hybrids.
Quoted from Tomass:Northern lights getting close to being done.
Nice. You nutes are you using? What's your schedule? Looking great.
Quoted from Delta9:Triple stacked
Wow. It never occured to me to flower small plants like these. I flower much bigger plants, like so. Picture is current Blueberry Headband.
Nice stack though! Very cool. LEDs obviously?
