I prefer Indian corn but also noticed others on the worst that I liked also. Circus peanuts, peanut better kisses and Tootsie rolls (fresh ones). A coworker brought some Tootsie rolls in one time that later I found out were a year old. 
Almost broke a tooth!

Unless I see tootsie rolls actually come out from a freshly opened bag, I always assume they are old and have been sitting forgotten in the back of a drawer for who knows how long.
One thing you can do to check is just squeeze one end of it. If it squishes, then it's still somewhat fresh. If it's hard, nope, toss it.

By the way "Candy Corn" was a very bad horror movie that I watched and don't make the mistake I did watching it. 
I love candy corn. I like it so much that I never buy it because I'll eat the whole bag. At this point, my body probably can't handle too much of it anyways, but I'll always have the memories of blaming the other kids for eating the entire bowl full of candy corn when it was me.
I saved a small bag from halloween and just opened it recently and have been slowly nibbling away at it. There's only a few pieces left at this point, so that'll probably be it until Fall.

Huh? I'm not familiar with who that is.
I don't find anything wrong with enjoying a small treat occasionally. It's not like I'm making a giant meal out of truckloads of candy corn.
