If I say I'm going to call the shipping company tomorrow, you would expect an answer from me the very same day or next day. It's common courtesy to keep you in the loop, especially since you are holding onto this game for an extended period of time. You are totally justified in cancelling this and you've been inconvenienced holding on to this for longer.
